I totally agree. He's what LSU needs. He's good enough to stretch a defense and he likes to throw to the tight end! It's time we all get behind him! Geaux Tigers!

You don't have to get so upset. I just asked you to put your money where your mouth is. There are plenty ppl who think Scott will start. They're all 100% wrong of course. And btw that's not what you said.

Etling does not have a great arm, but he's got solid pocket presence, decent accuracy, great size, and decent athleticism.

He is more than serviceable from a natural talent perspective to win a lot of college games.

However, he's not some elite gamer or physical talent that will win games by himself.

I really can't think of a team that has won the SEC in modern times that didn't have at least one game during the season where the QB came in and won the game for them.

That is literally what he HAS to be able to do at some point during the year to lead a team to a conference championship.

Just my opinion, but Flynn was twice as good as both and Mauck. I was a huge MM fan, but Flynn was just a better quarterback.

The numbers prove way different. Flynn was nowhere near mauck in any statistical category and didn't win as much either.

I'm clearly upset

And my mouth didn't say Scott would start or even have a good chance to start.

McElroy? (us in 2011)

ETA:

But I agree, we need someone to step up and be that guy that wins us a couple games.

I agree the numbers tell a different story. Maybe I'm just a little bias because that 07 team is probably my all time favorite. Loved watching those guys play.

Narcisse has a better shot that Brennan....all these dudes in love with Brennan need to realize that the only guy built to play qb in 2017 from 2017 recruits is Lowell. Its not even close actually.

Yeah the guy who didn't even play high school football last season is ready to take on the SEC.

He isn't saying that Narcisse is ready to start day 1 in the SEC. He is saying that he is more ready than Brennan, and I would have to agree with that. At least Narcisse is SEC size and has the ability to run. If Brennan took one soild hit from an SEC D-end/LB, he would probably be snapped in half. He only weighs 175.

I like Etling but if Canada has someone else starting over him I will not be upset in the slightest.

Best player should play, and I trust our new O cordinator/guru to make the right pick. That's what we hired him for.

He reminds me of Matt Mauck and Matt Flynn
Flynn had a NFL arm

Mauck had wheels

Etling has neither, I like him though. And he is white, so that helps with your comparison.

Brennan is an obvious redshirt....and that's Ok.

Lowell may be a great option for goal line or 3rd and short running options....that is unless all this Scott Talk is true...I've seen some high lights of his elusiveness so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I don't care if Lowell was injured last year, with some college training he is built like a beast.

Oh yea and I'm not trying to poo poo Flynn just saying mauck was better. Etling had better numbers too. Flynn had some great games (Alabama comes to mind) but also had some stinkers like arky. He was a helter skelter performer but loved him and the team. But I also love mauck and etling too so I'm gonna compare them as unbiasedly as I can. As far as talent I believe Etling was the highest rated prospect of the three. I'd say mauck had the best arm Flynn ran the best and Etling by far is the most accurate and best natural thrower. Remember mauck had to do a lot of work to turn himself into a passer (49% his jr year) and Flynn had to cup the ball to get zip on it.

It's an open qb competition. Etling will be benched within the first four games of next season if he is named the starter.
