They play their arse off for sure.

For anyone to say this team should be ???? because we've played ???? doesn't know much.

LSU is limited. We have very little inside except for JOB (who has struggled as well). Even worst as far as depth down low.
Outside we have a few players, but most don't shoot the ball all that well.

The positive thing is that they keep playing hard and generally keep the game close. What hurts them also is they are really a team of runs. They struggle to score for periods of time and that's tough to overcome.

I can't wait until we get some of the young talent in next year. A guy like Odo is going to help JOB. A guy like Martin will also help down low because IMO, he will be a better version of Coleman. And more than anything we'll have some quality depth.

Obviously, Coach Johnny has brought in a new high energy attitude to this program. He doesn't sleep on the bench like Trent did.

I am hopeful that an influx of talent next year and years forward will help mold a program that can become the envy of College Basketball. I do like coach Jones but I hate having to wait 2 or 3 more years to reap the rewards.

After JJ's tenure is over, many years from now, I would like to see the program on solid ground such that top flight college coaches would seriously consider packing their bags to Baton Rouge. I love basketball that much. Unfortunately, that may never happen. I do believe coach Jones will have us in the Dance within 2 or 3 more years.

They all played 30 plus minutes last night. If we had a little more depth to press more often we'd have a couple of more wins. We've made our runs off of the press. Our offense is 3 ball or die without any height. They double and triple team Johnny and he ends up forcing shots.

That's exactly right.

Anyone with good basketball eyes can see Johnny Jones is doing a great job. Eventually the attitude this team plays with will begin to show in the W column. I'm optimistic. Just a little more talent and a little more time is all we need.

LSU Basketball is on the rise, again.

None of them are really shooters though. Though admittedly I haven't seen that much film on Quarterman

Quarteman is a good shooter, but the real need is for players who can get off high percentage shots inside. We execute pretty well on offense and get good looks but 6'5" guys cant finish at the rim against bigger defenders. Our shot chart next year will look much different. Very happy with the effort I'm seeing.

The spirit fingers thing is really gay. Why would you do that when your guy is trying to focus and all he sees through the glass is a bunch of kids wiggling their fingers with their arms in the air. It's just distracting and doesn't make sense. Also, why is it when the players come on the floor after a timeout, the cheerleaders don't get off of the court. The male cheerleaders don't really need the megaphones it's not packed enough for them. Their chants get old too. Shoot for two when the team is setting up for a three does not coincide. I don't mean to sound negative but its about the game and respecting it.

Spirit fingers is kinda a thing everywhere though. It wasn't a distraction before they decided to move the student section behind the basket.

Cheerleaders don't have to get off the court until the second horn, usually the only time they overlap is when a coach breaks the huddle early. I don't have a problem with it.

If people have said that yelling, waving arms, etc. doesn't distract them (other team) very much, I doubt that silent spirit fingers would.

Just saying. Our guys missed free throws with silent spirit fingers, yet some of A&M's made BOTH free throws amidst screaming and waving.

They didn't give up on plays last night, which I like to see. We just need to be more decisive around the rim.
