This is why a small minority of fans will always dislike Miles.

First off let me say this, this isn't a Saban thread. It's the mindset of Tiger fans that fell in love with Saban when he was here. I myself am very thankful for the things Nick Saban did while at LSU, but the minute Les Miles became coach at LSU, he became my coach.

2003, our first NC since 1958. Like most, I give Saban total credit and he deserves every bit of it.

2004, when you look back, Saban was leaving if the right opportunity came. Well, he did just that. Remember he left LSU.

2005, LSU coached by Miles, goes 12-2 (7-2 in the SEC, a lose to Georgia in the SECCG) and a blowout Peach Bowl win over Miami.
Note: those who don't like Miles only say two things about 2005, the Tennessee OT loss and Miles is winning with Saban players. Final ranking 5th overall in the country.

2006, LSU finishes the season 11-2 (6-2 in the SEC) tough losses at Auburn and Florida. Still another blowout Bowl win over Notre Dame 41-14, a BCS Bowl win. Those same fans still say Miles is winning with Saban players and we lost to Auburn with a QB like J. Russell. How's he doing right now? LSU finishes 3rd overall in the country.

2007, A year that was filled with drama and excitement, then add in a couple of heartbreaks. Yes we go on to win it all. LSU finishes 12-2 (7-2 in the SEC) and once again, a blowout win against tOSU 38-24 in the BCS NCG. LSU No.1 in the nation. Yet these same fans use the same montra. Miles is only winning because of Saban players.

2008 and 2009, these two years put these fans in their glory. We all know these were subpar years and it added validity to these fans who still to this day thinks Miles is an IDIOT. 2008 we finish 8-5 (3-5 in the SEC) another blowout win over GTech 38-3, but we end the season unranked. 2009 we finish 9-4 (4-4 in the SEC) and LMs first bowl game loss 17-19 to Penn St. ranked 17th at years end.

2010, this was suppose to be the year of the antiMiles fan. They were certain he would fall flat on his face. This season proves to me why these fans will never accept the fact that they have been wrong about Miles. Regardless of what excuse they try to bring up to show their distain for Miles, they can't deny that Miles has LSU at #6 in the coaches and AP polls and #5 in the BCS. He has LSU at 10-1 with a lone road loss at #2 Auburn. He has accomplished this with having to handle a QB situation that most coaches would have gone postal on, that includes Saban. The toughest thing for these fans to swallow, is that this has LMs signature written all over it. This is all his recruits and the best part is he has recruited better than Saban. Yes these fans will call BS on that, but check out the recruiting position by position since Saban has been at Bama. The proof is there. The scary part for these fans is the season isn't over and the outlook is great. Something these fans dread. God forbid if Miles for the 213th time gets lucky and finds himself in the NCG.

2011, this will probably be the year that totally destorys these fans arguement about Miles. It will not be a good year for the antiMiles fans.

Dude, for real, no one really wanted LSU to falter. Everyone is happy about the season, no matter how vocal they were about Miles. Myself included.

Can it just be because what we're watching continues to defy both logic and sound football sense, and it a lot of people's opinion it can't continue??

There are just a lot of times when it's obvious (to some) that the miracles, extra plays, grass eating, and clock drama stuff is a product of a game not put away when it should have been. It's been IMO the overriding theme that's exposed most of the other issues.

But hey, not putting games away doesn't make me dislike someone. It just makes my opinion of how it will all end different than yours. Hope I'm wrong!!

Let's get off this Miles thing. Miles is a top 10 coach and we are happy he is here.

defy logic and sound football sense. i think you made that up. i guess your logic is the correct one and your football sense is the sound sense, which makes others unsound. maybe you don't know as much as you think you do.

How it will all end? Do you think Les is gonna do something catastrophically crazy on 12/21/12?

I think your quote is the epitome of what the OP was trying to convey FWIW

So with this mindset, LSU has the schedule and probably the best talent entering the 2011 season, if they win the NC using the same coaching mindset, Miles should still be run out of town, please.

I think more people have issues with Crowton than Miles at this point...

My only issue with Les has been I have wanted to see more fire out of him not the lackadaisical attitude that we see so many time after mistakes.

Yea man ask my girlfriend I was ready to kill hime after the 3 toss sweeps on the goal line and then the 4th one at 3rd down which let Ole Miss score before the half. But it appears the team is improving each week hopefully they continue for two more games and into next year.

No, GrandDad. Are you really this dense, or do you just play this way for the Rant's sake?

Here is a question. How many times out of 100 does the end of the Tennessee game go our way?

Does it make more sense to have two plays called ahead of time, or is it the better move to have one play called, then wait a few seconds, decide to change personnel after it's way too late to do so, create complete chaos for both teams, have the center snap the ball when the QB isn't looking and hope that the other team gets penalized for something. Then score from closer in on an untimed down.

That's the point, GrandDad. What about this don't you get? That kind of crap is not the sign of a well coached team. If we keep doing that, do you think good things will happen or bad things? If this was an isolated incident, it might be more easily dismissed.

Miles' record is fantastic. There is no disputing that fact; however, the manner in which his record has been achieved calls into question the likelihood of the his next 6 years being as successful as his first 6 years.

It's not the mindset I have a problem with, and I don't think he should be run out of town. You don't run off a coach with his record.

That being said, given what we all witnessed at Ole Miss last year, Tennessee this year and the Cap One bowl last year, I just think we should temper our enthusiasm for blindly signing off on Miles as our coach ad infinitum. Christ, just a few weeks ago, most of the Rantards were ready to string him alive. Now, after a couple of very nice wins, he's suddenly great again? Sorry, I don't buy it.

well 1 out of 1 times it went our way, so if we extrapolate that, it would be 100 out of 100.
