We were in national championship last year and 10 wins this year and couple plays from being there again. Yea such a decline. Grow the hell up y'all dumbasses
What happened in that NC game last year? What happened in the bowl game this year? We were a few plays from playing for the NC this year? No, we were a few plays away from playing in the SECCG this year. We were also a few plays from losing to Arkansas, Auburn, and Ole Miss. But someone the "a few plays" metric only counts when looking at the Alabama game and not all of the games we tried to shite away at the end.
The program is stagnant. It's stagnant at a good level, but it's not a championship program. For some that's fine, because they've got some weird battered wife syndrome where they think that being terrible in the 90's means we should excuse terrible coaching now because we win 9 or 10 games a year. Just because I ate top ramen in college doesn't mean I don't care if my steak is overcooked now.
Expectations change, and LSU is paying their coach elite money and they don't have a whole lot to show for it lately. In 6 years they've got one SEC title that was followed by a historically embarrassing NCG performance. That's it. They've won the west once, won the SEC once, and lost an embarrassing title game. They've had embarrassing losses to Penn State and now Clemson. They've a miserable offense that is in the bottom half of the FCS most years.
Is that acceptable? Depends on what you want out of the program, I guess. But despite going to LSU in the 90s I still have higher hopes for the program than being the 3rd or 4th best program in the SEC.

The "fans" aren't helping the school neither. Just go and read what someone sent to Odell Beckham on his twitter.

Some fan sent him a text message after the game last night calling him a stupid n word and telling him he's a scrub. He also talked about Odell's father was a scrub and Beckham posted it on his twitter.

I can't believe people in this world think it's ok to act that way.

Programs in decline win their conference the previous season? Then go on to a 10 win season?
Posted on 1/1/13 at 2:46 pm to athletemed
Good grief! After every loss, it's the same story for LSU fans. Fire Miles! QB sucks! Fire OC! End of era! Golden age is over!
You fricking people need to find a new team. Seriously.

But Clemson was a FAR inferior team talent wise...
I am not so sure about that...
I would give the edge to their QB, along with their offensive line for sure compare to who we have.

Oh theyll come to lsu and get really good at that stupid but highly publicised 'rabid tiger' drill or whatever Miles calls it.

I dont remember those things being said after the 2008 and 2009 seasons. I believe most fans knew where the problem was and at that time was at QB with Perriloux situation leaving us in the pickle. We are well beyond that time and I have to agree with the OP that now it is apparent we are headed downhill. Im not saying so far towards losing seasons but 8-4s and 7-5s with the occasional 9-3 and 10-2s , here we come. Is that all that bad you answer me? When you've tasted of the thousand dollar vintage wine, does the cheap Boone's Hill still taste good to you?

Exactly 2008 and 2009 I gave Miles a huge break because I thought he did the right thing with Perriloux...
now he has no excuse...his players, his system, his development....

I don't think the program is in decline, but 2012 was down year, just like 2008 and 2009.
LSU is still an elite program.
Elite programs cross the 50 yard line in a BCS championship game, and beat ACC and Big Ten teams in bowl games.
