this is the year that the passing game breaks out

For all the negativity on this website, Next years passing game is talented and has the potential to be great.
Perhaps this is the year we finally offensively progress. It seems that our scheme has been stuck in the mud for years. We will need to be different. First year in many we don't have an established stud running back preseason
We are dynamic at quarterback. I would expect Brennan and Narcisse to get playing time. Both had outstanding high school careers. Both were highly recruited. Brennan a gunslinger and Narcisse the number one ranked dual threat quarterback coming out of high school.
We have running backs that can catch. A solid group of tight ends. A very good group of returning wide recievers. And the incoming group is outstanding - led by Giles, Marshal and Chase.
Take two steps back and it's not very hard to be excited.

Glad to see this thread.
Again
You also can't criticize negativity with some blind positivity.

.... and just like 2013, it will also be the year that the secondary looks like dog shite.

Well we do have greedy and are stacked at safety. Beyond that it's a big question mark.

I think we are going to run out of the shotgun 75% of the time.

Running shot gun more would be good

Would definitely make it easier on Brennan to get the ball out quickly.

Sure it's possible but how many years in a row has this been said now? I'll believe it when I see it.

Good possibility, although we are young (skill wise), if coaches work to get the qb and wr's on the same page, I also think they can be good on offense. The line also needs to improve in pass blocking, we haven't been good at this for a long time and struggle throwing against the good defenses.

WHAT could possibly make you think that LSUs offense will be different? Rookie QBs and a questionable at best offensive coordinator do NOT make for a great season. The Kool Aid is flowing pretty good for some on here. I HAVE the POTENTIAL to be great. EVERYONE has the POTENTIAL to be great. Potential does NOT turn into greatness for the HUGE percentage of players. AND it's doubtful from the past efforts of the current coaching staff that they have the ability of extracting that greatness from the players. Surtain said it all. Bama has the coach. OBVIOUSLY LSU does NOT.

Well it's a different year with different personnel. If you asked why we thought it would be better that would be a legit question. But as it stands you and your question are worthless.

Yeah well when you are running mostly long routes that takes time to develop, ignoring slants and anything over the middle it really puts pressure on an oline. On defense all you had to do was cover the short out we ran and put pressure for the deep throw.
We may have been running this for several reasons, lack of good wrs or lack of confidence in qb to make those throws over the middle.
This year is the year we make the big change I believe. We dont have a choice. Lack of a proven rb and loaded with wrs and qbs with arms will force us too.
I see an offense much like OU. Throws all over the field. Rbs highly involved in the passing game, slants, screens and crossing routes to go along with what we have been running. Mixed with running plays to keep the defense off balance. Lots of shotgun even on short yardage plays.
At least I see us attempting to run that style offense, how successful we will be is up for debate. But for all those who wanted a total change of offensive philosophy, get ready, your about to get your wish.
