People calling you a pussy, are ironically, in favor of an extremely pussy decision.

It’s been sun shining all day around the box minus a little 10 minute light rain around 3pm.

Oh yea?

This is a call by NCAA officials to ensure the game doesnt start and have to stop. Sure, Jay Johnson postpones games regularly throughout the season. That isnt the case currently. Sorry you don't understand that.

The problem is the policy that “any lightning within three miles of the stadium/ballpark dictates a two-hour delay”… that’s excessively over cautious and needs to be modified…How many people have EVER been injured by a lightning strike at a football or baseball game?

ETA: ok I googled it… in a study of available data (I didn’t see how far they went back/what time period) there’s been 33deaths and 96 injuries from lightning at baseball and softball games…

In 2019 at a Cleveland /Pittsburgh game, with two outs in the bottom of the 9th, a lightning strike knocked (the pitcher on the mound) unconscious…. He recovered to finish the game (doesn’t say how long they waited!)

So, apparently it is a risk; even so, the “30/30” safety rule seems amply cautious enough- if the sound of thunder is less than 30 seconds after the lightning is SEEN, you should take shelter, and WAIT 30 MiINUTES after last thunder heard before resuming activities

What should LSU have done differently?

Played the game at 5 because there was literally no threat of rain

It sounds like the fake weather delay is what caused him not to be there so good for him.

Several folks at the Box now that were there last week are texting me with the same sentiment. I agree with them and I’m sitting at home in the AC. Also sucks if you work for a living. Two straight Mondays and if there’s a game tomorrow they will do this again bc chance of rain is higher.
