Um. No. Pruitt nor the Announcers ever got an explanation.

At one point in the game, the refs stopped the play on the field while Tennessee was dialing up a trick play. No flag or violation was called and the stop was never explained but it stopped the trick play before it could get going.

Saturday down South write up

Tennessee Sports Write up
This is almost STANDARD for a Wildcat audible to run the QB into the WR spot. The defense is SUPPOSED to be confused but not the refs. SMH
quote:

Apparently, you’re not allowed to have a certain formation, even if it’s perfectly legal, if it will fool the Alabama Crimson Tide. Tennessee football was a victim of that on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa. Yes, they were guilty of calling a trick play that might fool Nick Saban. Down 14-7 in the second quarter, the Vols were driving. They got it to 1st and goal. With Jarrett Guarantano in at quarterback, Jeremy Pruitt and Jim Chaney called a trick play in which Guarantano ran out into a receiver’s formation.

Make no mistake, we will be the victim of multiple game changing calls. The gumps will not be allowed to lose.

I still can't believe the refs stopped the game when Tennessee went wildcat. Bama was confused so the refs stopped the game! Incredible!

This right here is all the proof I needed. Zero explanation. Game changer.

Sure there was. The Bama defense was confused and Tennessee was about to score. The REC couldn't allow that.

Nope. You can absolutey use a player underneath you to push yourself up. You do NOT need to roll off of him.
Even the announcer said he was pushing himself up, which is normal, And not shoving Tua into the ground.

First it wasnt Tua.

Second you aren't getting it, I dont care if it should be a penalty, when your playing Bama you dont give them any chance at all.

I'm sorry though the player shoved the guy down some, we would be screaming bloody murder if it happened to Joe and a flag wasnt thrown

Unfortunately for Pruitt, he took his frustration out on his QB which was a bad look. He should have just said frick it, let the referees have it, and gotten thrown out major league manager style. They were never going to be allowed the possibly to be in that game anyway.

I'm in.

Sorry I assumed it was Tua being hit but the rule stands that you can use a player for leverage to get up. And refs are supposed to use judgement to see if you're pushing them down or helping yourself up.

I know this has been mentioned a million times, but it really doesn't look good for Bama and their colluders that, the last time they played a good team without SEC refs they got embarrassingly blown out.

I agree on what the rule states but you are playing Bama, we all know how the bias works

Bama will end up being the Texas of the SEC. Other SEC schools will look to join other conferences because of their chicanery.

I forgot about that brutal hit on Fromm when he was blindsided. I can't believe that wasn't called. I mean I can believe it since it was a Bama defender...

No one has mentioned the Alabama OL literally tackling the Tennessee DL as he got past him during the same play. Both the “push up” and the “tackle” are in plain view of the official. Fricking incredible.

When bama plays in games not officiated by SEC refs they are not nearly as good or unstoppable. In other words other refs from other conferences officiate better against bama.

Look at The championship last year and in 2016.

Also, after the Fromm hit, the dude actually shoved him in the helmet after getting up. Way worse than the bs called on TN.
