Wrong thread. Didn't realize this was a thread about water being wet.

The state of the football team, yes. Maybe you forgot to read this was about the media.

The media is the media. They latch onto everything they can to create a frenzy hoping to get more coverage and clicks. This is a topic in 2015?

Dude there were people wanting miles fired after the first 3 years of #5, #3, #1. You go all the way to 2012 with some incredible numbers....after which LSU lost a lot of underclassmen...leading to a weaker d in 2013 and overall in 2014. You think the media is BSD now...try firing him after 2013...after an incredible 8 or 9 year run. Miles deserved the opportunity to rebuild and turn things around...which he was given...he didn't produce and more importantly he would not attempt to adjust...so he is rightly gone. True leaders are objective and definitely not knee jerk. If we had people like you lea d ing LSU we would have a new staff every other year.

So miles hasn't changed the offense In 7 years. What part of one more year makes you think he's going to vastly alter what he does on offense and right the ship? It's not happening. Period

I'm pretty sure that the word is out between the coaching community about this with Miles. What real OC would even dare come here at this point, under Miles of course.

9-8. 13-10. 8-7.

Numbers don't lie. He is no longer an elite coach and we are paying elite dollars. Time to move on.

The issue is the idiots on this board and the fanbase in general going ballistic over something we saw prior to the beginning of the season. You people have been acting like Bama fans over the last month or so, and yes, it's much worse than it has been in the past. We derided Bama fans for a long time about it, and now look what our fanbase has become

Well then the issue is all the pumper converts the last few weeks.

The same people that wanted miles gone before this current losing streak have been around for some time. There was never any national media backlash for all of those people. So what's changed? The new influx of converts.

Which brings us to another interesting point they've continued to ignore. You're correct in that most projected a 9-3, 8-4. Lsu is right on pace for that kind of season. So, why have so many pumpers converted?

Yup. The success and LF7 Heisman talk(well deserved) built up hopes and dreams like a shot of heroin... then came reality crashing in.

They couldn't handle it.

The undisciplined, disorganized, stale product that started 7-0?

Let's see...
We beat Miss State (early in the season with young players. we would not beat them now).
Auburn - severely depleted
Cuse - far less talent but good coaching.
EMU - same as cuse
USCe - got beat by Citadel! WTF?
UF - QB was suspended before our game, otherwise this was another loss for us.
WKU - same as cuse

Curly Hallman could have started 7-0 against these teams.

In fairness I think many were fooled by the performance of BH in the 3 games leading up to bama...and particularly the Florida game. Hell even pro scouts were fooled.

Everybody said 9-3 or 8-4 record this season before Fournette got rolling with a healthy line and FBs. Now that we're exactly where we thought we'd be, everybody's bitching.

This is my biggest problem with the whole thing. We cruised through a cream puff schedule, greatly exaggerating everyone's expectations, and now that we've achieved just about what everyone thought we were, the pitchforks have come out. Makes zero sense.

Man, you nailed it!
I can still see JL standing on the sideline, looking at his wrist band and rolling his eyes when plays were being signaled in.

This here...

That would have been one of the best(if not the best) season by a single team in the history of college football. But the coaching staff had ZERO plan B. Now everybody remembers the shite in the bed rather than everything that came before it.

And the head coach hasn't recovered. "The Mad Hatter" was emasculated.

4 of those cream puffs will make bowl games with an average of over 9 wins. South Carolina did beat north Carolina and Syracuse has actually played well at home against Pitt LSU and Clemson.

this is the main problem...thing is its been this way for many many years and he still does nothing to change it

Poor coaching staff hires, Peveto and Steele, we're looking at you. Peveto's coverage and return units were average to poor when he was first here and there's no way he should have gotten the gig again. Steele easily had the worst resume of the DC candidates last year yet somehow got the job. The man has done nothing but fail as a DC at his last few stops. Why would that change this go around?

Ehh I give Les a pass on Steele. Who would want to come here if you knew the AD had the wheels in motion to get rid of him? Which is exactly what was going on with the chavis fiasco.

The people that want him gone know more about the business of collegiate athletics, LSU-focused budgets, ticket sales, inner-workings, contract details and MONEY related to this team-much less on-the-field results-than anyone on this board or whining that Miles should be retained.

They've been moving towards this end-game for over a year. The two year contracts, Chavis checking out early, the administration rebuffing Miles when he went to them for a Cam Extension during the year on the way to 7-0...these should've all been dark clouds and ominous warning signs Les should've paid attention to to adjust his ways and correct his course.

He didn't. It was full speed ahead in the same direction he's been going. Which was a one-way-ticket to a downward spiral. We all know it.

He evidently either doesn't have the ability to step outside of himself and see that he is part of the problem, or he doesn't care enough about his career, his staff, his players and his program to make the changes necessary to continue to retain his position as the head coach of our program.

I know-hell we all know-how deeply he cares about LSU and his job, so we know it's not the latter. So I pin the blame on a blind spot. A blind spot a mile wide that simply won't let him do what needs to be done.

Avarice. Ego. Pure ignorance. I'm not really sure. What I am sure of is that to the people who matter-boosters, administrators, BOS members and other stakeholders and rainmakers for LSU-have stopped buying in and are unwilling to continue down the path we're on with Les leading us.

You can like that. Lump that. I don't really care. But if you think its the Rant that's created this, you're delusional. Just stop posting and go grab a drink. Right now. Who cares if its 10:30 CST? You need one.

You've lost the plot.
