Apathy doesn't really work that way

There is true apathy astir around one significant LSU team sport-- and it's NOT LSU men's basketball.

It's women's basketball. LSU has a key game tonight, a road contest at a very good Ole Miss team, who's 4th in the SEC and coming off a huge win vs a previously unbeaten Tennessee unit. There's been no activity on this board around the women's team since Sunday, yet the Rant has been teeming with threads about the men's team, and McMahon. Why is that -- it's aggressive, rampant APATHY.

I have been a big LSU basketball fan since the Pete Maravich days. I attended LSU during the height of the Dale Brown era and went to the three Final Fours during my lifetime.

I hate to say this but I think apathy is becoming acceptable with the fan base.

Is there a reason you bumped this retarded thread that's been dead since 2/19?

I cared about basketball when Shaq, Chris Jackson, Stanley Roberts, etc played in late 80s/early 90s. When they did not win a NC or even make the Final Four with those players, I knew they would never win one.

Obviously I want all LSU teams to do well but basketball will always be lower for football and baseball as far as enthusiasm and grabbing my attention. My passion will be directed to football and baseball.

Is there anyone else on here that really doesn’t give a shite about LSU basketball in the grand scheme of things especially when we have all of these other amazing sports that are successful and basketball is just a woke sport that has been crammed down our throats for years just like the NBA?

Actually the opposite. I have seen football win 3 nattys. Baseball win 4 nattys (that I am old enough to remember). Quite frankly, I don't care what those sports do. I have seen them reach the pinnacle of the sport.

I grew up going to John Brady basketball camp every year. I want to see the basketball program win a title

I haven't watched basketball, pro or college since the ladies won the championship, so I guess I really don't care.

Actually, no one plays basketball anymore. If one hasn't watched in five years you would no longer recognize the game.

I don't follow basketball at all, LSU or otherwise. Just don't enjoy the sport. Gun to my head, I couldn't name a single player on the team.

It's great when it's good, bad when it's bad. In this case it's the runt of the litter when it comes to resources and support.
