I’m gonna continue to watch every game including next year but scraping the roster isn’t going to do a whole lot. Let’s say he catches lightning in a bottle and gets ideal guys for him. He’s gonna struggle to go .500 in the league at best. He’s just not good

Having to fire our coach and get mostly all new players who were willing to come in to a bad situation is what killed our basketball team.

McMahon didn’t put together the right guys but I don’t know how many options he had to choose from . Nobody knows who he could have got and who he didn’t get .

The whole situation was gonna be bad no matter the coach. He may be horrible, but this was a losing situation regardless

I think you’re giving too much credit or blame to college basketball coaches. It’s the players that win games mostly

He’s not going to attract anyone with his style of play. Antiquated, sloppy, poorly coached predictable offense isn’t going to bring in scorers. He’s in so far over his head I feel terrible for him. It’ll take a decade for him to get back to the P5s after LSU fires him.

Honestly, no idea. Wouldn’t surprise me if he lost all of em.

I think that’s really hyperbolic. The guy has won games against good teams while at Murray state. He’s got to be able to coach somewhat.

Has he? I know he beat Marquette once but that’s it. Everybody else dirt rolled him.

Think about this, all of our players that transferred here from power 5 schools, weren’t starters and most played less than 15 minutes a game.

How can you take sec backups and beat sec starters?

The team was picked 8th in the SEC. That’s a talent evaluation more than anything else. We’re not only dead last we’re threatening the worst record in school history. It’s not the players.

You can’t be serious.

I thought I was arguing about who is most to blame, but you actually think we have a winning roster?

Again we were picked to be a bubble team. It’s not the talent no matter the pretend scenarios you come up with.

Well his first stab at putting together a roster can only be considered a colossal failure then. Strike one no matter what.

LSU wasn’t the only team that had to completely remake their roster. Yet, you act like he was only able to get a bunch of castoffs. Missouri has 4 players from Cleveland St, two from JUCO, and a few other mid-major transfers. They are finding ways to compete.

Even at their worst, Jonny Jones and Trent Johnson never lost 9 straight SEC games by double-digits. And some of those teams had sub 6 foot backcourts and member of the marching band playing.

McMahon is on pace to have the one of the worst seasons in LSU history. Then again, I’m sure top talent will be dying to come here and struggle to score 50 points

I’m not saying he’s good, I’m saying that the group we have can’t shoot and that part wouldn’t change with another coach.

His mistakes were in roster construction imo
