Maybe but last night on the radio show he commented that the team last year had the best leadership of any team he's ever seen in Skenes, Crews, Beloso, and Dugas. And that losing all those guys is tough to replace.

So yeah I don't think Jay expects to lose or expected this big of a drop off but he clearly understands how valuable the guys were that they lost from last year. Obviously he'll never come out and say it but I'm sure he didn't necessarily have the same expectations for this team that he did last years team.

With the portal, this is such a loser mindset.

Also, LSU isn't a program that should be rebuilding each year. You reload. Again, with the portal.. no excuses.

You can most def miss on guys, but there is an attitude problem currently.

This team is way better than they are playing right now, but this is baseball and these slumps happen all the time. Ole Miss played bad all year in 2022 and the got hot at the end and won the NC. I’m not saying this team will win the NC, but they will find their groove at some point and play up to their potential. I just hope we haven’t dug too big of a hole to get out of before then.

You don't lose a generational position player and a generational pitcher and not have a drop off. He won the National Championship in his first year. Let's give him some latitude.
