Well, actually, there is a salamander (Mole Salamander) occuring in the Southeastern U.S. that reproduces in the immature stage. It is a neotene. (Neoteny is the phenomenon of attaining reproductive maturity while retaining the larval external morphology.)
I often have observed human neoteny on and off college campuses and other habitats. I would not, though often tempted, place these in a new subspecies, but the characteristic in humans is quite common.
