He thinks its harder and he is an idiot. This is common sense. Which is harder to do? Have 2-3 great recruiting classes or have 6-7 great recruiting classes. You can make a program with 2-3 great classes but that won't maintain it for a decade. Come on man.
Also, Arky was gonna suck no matter what. They recruited shite on defense and their offensive line would still get pushed around by ole miss

You are right about arky, but they would have won SOME games with petrino still there. IMO anyway. Or atleast would have been some what competetive.

The smith point was just to illustrate that even maintaining status quo for the season immediately following a coaching change is not as easy as ppl like to make it out to be. After a few seasons, as you and I agree, the program is firmly in the new coaches ownership (as LSU is now under miles).

I think come Saturday night, we get the old CLM. His back, as well as this team's, is against the wall right now, he knows that injuries or not, he's still got the talent to stay on the field w/Alabama (thus compete for an NC). I think he loosens the mood up at practice this week, tells his guys to start enjoying themselves a little more, and that he's going to lead that change in attitude by "letting it rip" a little more.

No he's not....after saying this every week for 3 years, I've learned my lesson. It will be the same old stuff. Same offense, which is his offense

You're right!! It will be the beginning of the END of tiger fans living in fantasy land thinking this team with its offensive gameplan will somehow end up in the SEC championship let alone the national championship especially with all the injuries to boot!!

We have averaged a final ranking of 8.7 for since 2003.

Do you really think we are supposed to go undefeated every year?

I bet there is a shite ton of pressure to make the final four though.

the playoff is going to change how people think of a football season.

I agree with you there.

But what do you think we can expect once the playoffs kick in?

I have a feeling that most fans will expect to be in the final four every other year. And some fans will be unsatisfied with that.

Well, we're not 10-2. If we drop Saturday, we won't see 10-2. Book it. Saban went 9-3 prior to kicking our arse and hoisting a 2nd crystal trophy. Now, nobody remembers that shite. Probably gonna win a third this yr. and they'll be preseason #1 next yr. You see where I'm going with this?

You're overthinking it dude. people thought Ole Miss 2009 was one of those games and obviously it wasn't.

I stopped reading. Any time he loses, the haters will show up. This means nothing in the grand scheme of things. They win 10 games, come back healthier next year. We win and lose to bama, it will do nothing for the fanbase.

Most here know this will be the case. They just haven't come to accept it yet. However, I think it will be a better showing by the offense than last week.

If LSU isn't elite then I would love to know who you think is, aside from the obvious answer of Bama.

Come on "nitwit", we are all dying for you to name your "elite" programs. You can't can you? Besides Bama there is no current program that you can come up with that meets the definition of "elite" that you want to hold Miles to. Come on...you were accused of not knowing what the word elite meant...prove us wrong!
