You sell your soul for so little. All it takes is a win over TX A&M?

We would essentially be what we were when everyone was screaming for Miles’s head.

We are already worse than that, by the way.

The only reason this has been "excused" by the Tiger faithful is that it's his first year.

These excuses are handed out while willingly overlooking the fact that we are loaded with talent and hired O on the basis of CONTINUITY not a REBUILD.

Next year is when things start to get ugly, IMO.

Hope I'm wrong.

O promised the playoffs why should I expect less? I assure you I expect exactly what he promised next year or hit the bricks.

No, we already know. Some of you just won’t admit it for at least a couple of years.

Exactly like the dumbazzes who kept saying give Les one more year...he'll change....and year after year things remained the same.

Are those the people you're talking about...kinda like yourself?

A lot of people wanted Les gone from day one. A lot more wanted him gone after 2008.

Then from 2010-2012, he led us to some of the most impressive years in LSU history.

It's understandable why he was given a leash after that, even if you don't personally agree with the rationale behind the decision.

What we are doing now is not understandable or rational, and it will end poorly.

I say with a healthy Guice we are 10-1. If you agree with Thidthought we should ben scared as hell considering our RB depth next yr.

I am an old "get off my lawn" guy, and I first got season tickets in 1961. Not one into numbers, but LSU has had every type of HC imaginable & fired every type of those HC's. Each was torched & verbally abused before getting fired. But I have never seen the out right hate for any of those coaches that ranters here feel for Coach O. And it is hate, no matter how it is cloaked. Want to know who was a horrible HC? Curley Hallman. And he was never treated this way & he was bad beyond belief, both as a person & a HC. Stovall ended up being bad. DiNardo. Archer. None were vilified like Coach O. Ranters hold Troy against him. Saban lost to ULM. At home. Before he became a god.

Miles wasn't fired so we could hire Ogeron.

Miles was fired so we could get something better. Alleva would have us believe his hiring decision accomplished this. Now Orgeron needs to prove him right. He hasn't done that yet and beating A&M won't prove anything.

Nope. It was time for him to go, and he should have been fired sooner. Too bad we replaced him with a worse coach.

No it’s not. Some of us are adults and can separate professional criticisms from personal insults.

I think part of that comes from the message board era of sports - Hallman would cause this site to burn to the ground if hired nowadays.

Back then there just wasn't a comparable source for "anonymous" and easily available criticism.

Also, everything before Saban was being judged with a different criteria - fair or unfair, he changed expectations for the program.

Let’s be honest, les almost blew it to Troy twice before this year. He played down to his comepetion multiple times. He lost to miss state also and lost to bama the last few years too. Everybody was saying that les is the reason we were winning 10 games a year and you’re just mad Bc the next coach who supposedly sucks is doing the same thing as Les. Get with the picture. Lsu recruits itself. It doesn’t matter who lsu has, some of the best kids from Louisiana will want to go there

"Professional criticisms"? Are you kidding me? Some of the things said about him go way beyond the pale & there are many who mock his cajun roots & accent for no "professional" reason. Read those comments that rank him as one of the "all time biggest liars" for daring to use his HC title to attempt to make a change in offensive play calling. And the word "liar" is almost always emphasized. To repeat, I've seen 5+ HC at LSU fired & raked over the coals, but none were treated like this. And absent Stovall & Coach Mac, none were La. residents.

So you would consider what we've done so far a total failure?

8-3 isn't gold but you're assessment of CEO to this point simply makes you look like a poor loser.

If he was a "worse" coach...we'd have a losing record right now.

I know what you mean, and you’re right. I’m just sayin lots of kids grow up and dream about coming to lsu. Louisiana is one of the most talented football states and lsu is the only Big School here. We will get our share of kids. Even les lost some good recruits to other schools so even with a good coach some kids will choose elsewhere.
