What about an O-line coach??? Their technique was atrocious. Olay is only exciting @ a bull fight....

No. Even odds he does something entirely stupid and say he is going to take a more active role in calling the offensive plays.

I want him to have a press conference with serious discussion about the offense. A couple years ago I said he didn't owe us an explanation. Now I say he does.

Besides us ranters, where is the pressure coming from?
Same place it came from when he hired Chavis. CLM is stubborn and unpredictable, but he ain't stupid. He snatched defeat from the jaws of victory not once but twice this year.
I'll go out on limb and say we we have a new OC next year.

I agree. The offense has been a problem for years. Not just this year or last.

Think Miles will succumb to the pressure to hire a new OC ?
If Miles didn't change anything after the January 9 BCSCG debacle, he may never change unless the AD threatens to fire him (which Alleva will never do). Miles is arragant and hard headed which would be good if you make good decisions, but Miles does not, therefore it's bad.

He gives zero fricks. He doesn't have the insane drive to win championships year in and year out(see story about 2010 auburn game when he talked to the official during the 4th quarter). He thinks winning 10 games is an awesome accomplishment and he's laughing on the way to the bank. In four more years he'll extort LSU for more money. It's a cycle.

not at all
he will look at the game film, realize he was one short pass away from winning, and stay the same

He will say it was "execution" errors rather than an inept plan.

Not defending Les at all, I think we need a complete change offensively, but you can also see why Les is stubborn to change. We were one dropped pass by OBJ from beating Florida and our offense handed our defense the lead with less than 2 minutes to go against Bama. We win either one of those and we are playing ND for the title. Hard to persuade Les or Joe A when they are presenting that argument.

the argument is that IF things had been different then we would be playing someplace different?

If the offense remains the same, and we lose Montgomery, Mingo, Reid, and Minter we will be in for a rough season, and the wolves will begin to howl. For Les, it might be self preservation. I have no trouble with him remaining as HC, but I want an honest to God offensive coordinator. I would also like to know if we could lure Trickett or Searrels back to LSU.

How do you simultaneously maintain we must hire a new OC, AND argue that Les calls all the plays?
Better yet, how can Les responsibly hold his own OC accountable when this is the case?
Do not underestimate this dynamic when asking how long it will take for Les to take action.
Les has met the enemy and he is it!

I think he will. He needs to pull the trigger and completely turn the offense over to someone else. Just like the defense with Chavis.
He just got a raise and an extension. If ever he had a mandate to do whatever he wants, now is that time. As a result, if he makes a change, I believe it won't be because of any perceived pressure.

To me this is the difference between Les and Nick. Nick knows how to surround himself with winners and let them do their thing. He manages the team like a HC should. Makes sure everything runs correctly but doesn't micro manage. I am sure he does hands on coaching with the DB's because that is what he knows. Just like Les should do hands on coaching with the OL but stop there. Nick has always made damn sure he has really good coaches in place and he lets them coach. Just look at where his past assistant coaches are now.
