Does anyone ever look bad in a spring game?

If the run/pass mix next season is anything like the spring game (and I realize it may not be) fans will have no reason to criticize the playcalling. Execution might be another thing, though. Lots of drops, overthrown/underthrown balls, etc.

Dee was impressive, but was being guarded by a slower player.

It wa spring scrimmage where the QBs wore green no contact jerseys and this were under zero real pressure.

Something here makes me think you not watch the game.

We have 2 QBs who can get it done. BH is looking much better and Etling won't be a drop off if an injury occurs. Etling reminds me of that Bama QB of a few years back who I hate (but he was good)

He is built like AJ McCarron. Strong lower body. Good pocket presence. He definitely looks the mold of a Bama QB. His arm is strong also.

everything Harris throws is still high. Thaknfully we have tall WRs that can bail him out.

I noticed 2 things about Harris. First, they catered to his skillset better, so he executed well. Secondly, he is still on pace to get a WR killed with his inability to set his feet properly with those high throws. It is great that we have numerous tall receivers who are talented, and can make up for BH's footwork, but the overthrowing is something that is very disappointing to see, given that it had to be the main focus of the off-season. Throwing on roll outs or with quick screens are fine, but to see true improvement, we will need to see his feet getting set consistently better.

No clue from whom that quote was stolen, but it perfectly and succinctly nails what the longest of my drivels would have missed.

As far as I know that's a G. Jelly original.

The fact that you said this makes me question whether you watched it at all. I know they usually wear green jerseys but it was quite clear they were wearing gold this year. A stark departure from tradition.

Were you expecting them to throw the whole playbook out there for a spring game? Haha you say you aren't negative then in the same post say that losing 2-3 games would be reasonable...k
We don't have an impressive playbook worth hiding. Why wouldn't we throw it out there?

So having a different opinion makes me dumb. Some of you idiots are high on the QB position today. Will be booing him and calling for the backup if he makes one mistake. Don't let your fandom hinder you from making an accurate assessment.

Harris has never looked comfortable in a highly structured offense. He's a wing it and fling it guy.

Yea ok,scheme causes missing open receivers, indecisive late throws and half assed play fakes.
Amazing that same scheme allowed for 65% completions, 3000+yds, 10+ypa in '13.
I expect improvement in passing game similar to one between '12 to '13.

WRs looked good
Harris was ok and really that's all we need there
Savion looked good

Nitpicking maybe but with 3 starters out on the OL the offense was able to get some yards right up the middle or off tackle. When Godchaux was in at nose he would slant one way for penetration and the hole was open on the opposite side. I assume a LB suppose to fill that hole but not smart enough to know. Kept thinking Bama and Arky would just keep pounding that middle.
Maybe I missed but I'd like to see Gilmore in at nose with starters with Godchaux back out at DE.
