The problem with the Notre Dame program is Notre Dame.
Give it 10 years of them continuing their trajectory of just dipping a toe in conference football as the rest of FBS aligns into 3 or 4 mega-conferences and they'll BE Colgate.
Maybe LSU brings them in for a cupcake game in 2035. Send them back to South Bend with a mudhole in em and a $1M check to ease the pain.

Their NBC tv contract is up in 2024. Would be hilarious if they're so irrelevant that no network wants to offer them a lucrative new tv deal. No conference, minimal tv revenue = good riddance.
