One of the most feared charges that can be made is racketeering. I assume everyone remembers the ridiculous threat that the NCAA made in their initial filing....50% of LSU's football revenue, etc. Now of course, they are threatening to expel LSU from the SEC. So let's go through the checklist of what constitutes racketeeing.

1) organized group committing fraud to try to extort money
2) intimidation tactics employed to obtain that money'
3) committing acts they have no right to perform

This is usually related to drug running organizations, etc but right now, the SEC is looking like little more than a criminal organization who thinks the laws in this country don't apply to them...specifically anti-trust laws and the laws that allow a person to make a living (let's use Lane Kiffin as example on this one)

The SEC is about to get into deep shite from a legal point of view.

Filing lawsuits, frivolous they may be, is not racketeering.

Sssssoooo, you don't think that threatening to take 50% of LSU's football revenue is extortion. Seems like you haven't kept up with this topic much. In the very initial PUBLIC THREATS IN WRITING they made against LSU, that was in the list. Glad to have educated you on the history on this issuel BTW, NEVER said that was in the current lawsuit but I guess you didn't really read my message.

Its abuse of power more than racketeering.

You have to take their actions as a whole INCLUDING their publicly made threats before lawsuits were even filed. This has been a lot more than one lawsuit.
