November 3, 2012 - Bama beats LSU in Baton Rouge 21-17

- It was the first LSU-Bama game after the infamous 21-0 BCS NC game.

- Zach Mettenberger had scored at TD in the 12th minute of the 4th quarter to put LSU up 17-14.

- After a couple of Bama puts, a LSU turnover on downs and a missed field goal, Bama got the ball back on their own 28 yard line with 1:21 left on the clock.

Here is what happened:

This game for me hurt as much as the 21-0 game and left me feeling sick. We had them on the mat and just needed one stop, but Chavis in all his wisdom goes prevent defense at the end of the game, instead of playing regular defense that had kept LSU in the game till that point.

frick...makes me mad just thinking about it. I still remember the stunned look of the LSU players on the sideline after the game not knowing what had happened and how they ended up on the losing side. In some ways we have still not recovered from this game and the losing streak continues.

I was there, and heard that fricking god-awful Rammer Jammer song fire up after they scored the winning touch down. Even more that 21-0, that is really where may hatred of Bama got started.

After the TD our genius head coach was snapping the ball with 22 seconds on the game clock.

Yes the Chavis defense with 1:21 was really bad but they shouldn't have had more than enough time for a hail mary.

This one hurt worse than 21-0 in many ways as 21-0 was a game we just weren’t going to win.

The 2012 game, coming on the heels of 21-0, was inexcusable. The Tigers had the 2012 game....had it.

Don’t forget that prevent D that let Bama march down the field and score at the end of the first half either.

Was so nice to see Aranda get after Auburn on their last possession. Danielson even said “Dave Aranda isn’t going prevent here.”

That was the worst feeling at the time. Then I proceeded to sit in traffic for over an hour on the way to my apartment, too bummed to go out. Then my toxic ex gf came over. What an awful night.

I'm glad I do not let outcomes of football games affect me that much anymore.

That game was Chavis at his worst. Bama also scored a TD with under 1 minute left of the 2nd quarter as well.

Bama scored 14 points this game against Chavis' 2 minute defense.

On that last drive, McCarron was 4/5 and scored a TD in 20 seconds.

God I fricking hated Chavis and his prevent defense.

You Miles blaming would hold water if that was the only time Chavis fricked up to end a half/game. Too bad that was a common occurrence with him, even in the first half of that very game no less.

Chavis was fricking useless in 2 minute situations.

we had them on the mat twice during this 7 loss stretch. i think you can effectively blame Chavis for both losses.

You posted this why?
To divert attention for the O and Miles bashers to here so they can argue on this topic versus the issue at hand.
You ain’t fooling no one.

The 2014 loss was a bad one, also. We had that one too, in spite of the very questionable officiating. I think had Gamble not hit the kickoff out of bounds, giving Alabama great field position to start their last possession in regulation, LSU wins. Bama had no timeouts left and barely had time to hit the tying FG. Incidentally, on Bama's TD in OT, they should have been called for illegal procedure. Also, on LSU's possession in OT, Dupre got mugged in the EZ and no PI was called.

Did the Hogs actually hire this clown? God, I hope not. I thought this was all rumor at this point?

Honestly why wouldn't you okay a prevent in that situation. I was sin TS and it was sickening, but LSU gave up huge plays outside of a normal "prevent" scheme.

He managed a repeat performance in 2014, too. Of course, stupid penalties hurt us, as well....

I'm pretty sure we blitzed on the last TD to Yeldon. That's why the screen worked so well. However, I agree with everything else posted.
