re: The worst Alabama team in 17 years came into Tiger Stadium and drug LSU all over the field

If anything Kelly has it easier than ANY previous LSU coach.
I disagree.
NIL is a game changer.
Having an empty wallet in the 1st couple of years was a lot to overcome. It meant that we were thin at a couple of key positions (especially DT).
What BK is navigating, and what Saban navigated are not the same scenarios.
I mean, Saban left for a rea$on. NIL.

So if he's recruiting at a higher blue chip level than before then why are we not seeing it on the field? That's 3 years with a nice incoming 4th year class and we regressed in year 2 and 3. The excuses seem to be running out to me.
And it is running out. Like I said, he will now be playing with solely his players this coming up year. He MUST show improvement this year and if not, any and all criticism will be 100% deserved. 9-3 minimum next year. Right now I just accept that it takes time to rebuild and that college football has changed. You won’t see the same teams winning it every year anymore and that’s a good thing. Teams won’t be going undefeated anymore and also is a good thing. How many times did we pretty much already know who was going to be in the SEC championship game by November before? Almost all the time we knew at least one team. It’s not going to be like that anymore and that’s a good thing. Dropping a game is not going to automatically keep you out of anything anymore. How many times was it possible before that we could have lost the Bama game and still been able to make the SEC championship? I’d say none in a long time. But because they also dropped games, we could have this year had we beaten florida and A&M. There’s going to be more chaos now and I for one love it.

Then you're not counting Will Campbell, Emery Jones, and Harold Perkins towards the blue-chip talent he's brought in?
He was recruiting them for LSU while at Notre Dame?
No?
Then you just actually made BK look even better for sealing the deal despite the circumstances at the time.

I'm hopeful of this too. I think he did an excellent job hiring the defensive staff. I'm high on every coach on it and I do think if he attacks the portal for the right players we will be looking good next year. Just need the right pieces to fall in place. I'm only being critical because he has to convince me he can do it first and so far he hasn't.
Obviously we can't lose Nuss and Baker but we'll see.

Not something I saw. Honestly, with me watching every post game interview, I would totally disagree with your take. At Notre Dame, sure. At LSU, I didn’t see it.
You're either lying about watching pressers or being willfully dishonest. There's multiple occasions where he's been presented with his own direct quote, where he then gaslights them and says he didn't say it.
He just attacked the fanbase and said "we're keeping receipts and we'll see you at the championship".
His tone in nearly every press conference is "how dare you question me!". It rubs people the wrong way

Ok would agree with this.
I also said the same thing about Orgeron…in 2016.

It wasn’t NIL. Bama still spends more than anyone on players. It was the portal and the fact he could t stockpile players. He can claim otherwise if he wants to but he’s full of shite. It was his ability to stockpile players that made Bama what they were, not NIL. Players he promised starting jobs too who didn’t start couldn’t leave without sitting out a year. Now they can. Meaning he had no leverage to keep them there as backup players. It’s exactly how that arse clown Bear Bryant did what he did. It wasn’t because he was some “mastermind coaching savant”. It’s because he stockpiled the best players.

Not what I have seen. Again, I watched EVERY interview.
Was he that way at Notre Dame? Yes.
At LSU - no.

He couldn’t stockpile because other schools were $tepping up with NIL money.
In short…NIL.

Agree. If anything he’s been the exact opposite. He’s basically said “blame me”.

Agreed
Those two are really big what ifs right now.

100%
Old boy WAS an a-hole at Notre Dame though ??

Wrong. The same teams that were paying are still paying. No team has really “jumped” in their recruiting levels. They are pretty much the same as they have always been. NIL has t changed the “haves and have nots” landscape but the transfer portal has. With players being able to leave whenever, the “haves” can spend the money on all of them from the portal AND recruiting. They have to choose. So that is freeing up good players to go to “lesser” programs.

Sure he was. But that’s just ND. They are Catholics after all.
After next year, if we are still an ill prepared team, by all means, BK deserves every criticism he gets. I’ll be right there with everyone. I just don’t think 8-4 is “as bad” of a season as it used to be due to the landscape of college football anymore. I think 8-4 will be considered a “decent but not good” year, 9-3 will be a “good but not great” year and 10-2 will be a “good but not exceptional” year. 11-1 will be and exceptional year

Okay, by this logic then he should be doing a better job in his portal management.
Money talks, bullshite walks.
Will you be (are you currently) donating to LSU’s NIL?

We had no answer for a mobile QB. This got exposed in the Aggie game. We still couldn’t figure out a scheme for such QBs in the Bama and Gator games. By some miracle, we got something cooking for the OU game. My guess is lack of skilled players in our team for such QBs and creativity was needful. Whatever adjustments we made to our defense worked in the OU game.

Agreed…via NIL.
Ole Miss put together an impressive defensive front via the tran$fer portal. It was a major inve$tment. NIL money is the lifeblood of the transfer portal.

One of the winningest coaches in history?
That 11yr stretch at ND padded those stats. He still didn’t sniff a NC though.

Lsu has a staff that's well paid. No excuse why the run game was non existent. I'm so over this crap with BK. The job is too big for him, IMO. Same can be said of Lincoln Riey at USC. This ain't Notre Dame scheduling the service academies and Boston College for the battle of Communion. Unfortunately, LSU is stuck with him, thanks to an egotistical athletic director that believes money grows on trees.

Chalk it up to a bad game
It happens
LSU also beat three teams that gave bama two losses and another that could have won that game
