Plus add that there are amazing future job prospects up in Seattle for UW grads if they don't make it to the NFL. Can't say that for BR or NO.

Okay I get that part. Based on the numerical ranking system how much difference is there say, between a kid with a .9973 and .9942? That can be a #1 rated guy at the position and #24. What makes up that thin margin and it just looks as if , on a percentage basis, the differences between getting someone at the top and what looks like someone much lower isn’t that great a margin really. Am I wrong about that assumption?

At least you O fans are starting to admit it. You care more about O being the coach than the success of the program. Rankings apparently mean nothing now.

This site is full of morons. They post nonsense to suit their agenda. Might as well work at CNN!

UW signed 21 recruits. Only 7 were lineman. LSU signed 22 recruits, 11 being linemen. Linemen are not ranking as highly. The more linemen you sign, the lower you class rank will be.

Yes! We whiffed at QB and on two CBs. But this IS a good class! As much as some LSU fans don't want it to be.

Let that shite sink in!!

That you think that helps your argument is very telling.

Works both ways sweetheart.

Certainly is. Still the worst class since 2002. Inexcusable to have zero corners either.

This is supposed to be Orgeron's strong suit... doesn't look like it.

I hate it when people say this.

We are changing our culture to lower expectations one thing at a time.

Anything less than top 10 classes (with major needs met) and 10 wins a year is underachieving and I fricking refuse to move those goal posts.

They want so badly to move those goal posts back...

Sick of hearing the fricking straw-man excuses. Win and recruit or GTFO

And this is the major issue.

A few years ago, LSU was no longer on the same level as Bama, Clemson, and Ohio State. The days of thinking there was a chance of a title were gone.

Now, it's generally accepted that 9 wins and a mediocre bowl is considered a success.

Nothing is done to fix what is wrong with the program... It's the same mistakes over and over again.

Alleva and F. King have orchestrated a nice decline of a once strong program.

And for the lemmings, I dealt with the 90's when I was in school... I know how low this program can go.

Coach O is a master recruiter said the rantards when we hired him.

LOL. I seem to recall that his recruiting classes at Ole Miss were shitty also. And yet people on here act surprised.

Here's the thing, recruiting for someone else is different than recruiting as the head coach. As an assistant, he was pushing Miles' success, and Pete Carroll's success, and Jimmy Johnson's success, etc. The problem is, it's a lot harder for him to push his own success on recruits because he didn't have any as a head coach. Orgeron is definitely a talented recruiter but he's not going to have the same success as a HC he did as an assistant until he starts winning football games.

I’m not “for” or “against “ O but this does make sense to me. He will have an uphill battle. Hope he has the talent and energy to overcome that part of it.

A lot of this realized this before he was hired, which is why we knew his prowess as a recruiter wasn't a good enough reason for him to get the job.
