Nebraska didn't really find its way into the shitter until they fired a decent coach because a spoiled fan base thought they should be playing for the NC every year.

Just sayin

The truth is that if changes aren't made we will soon see the Dinardo days again and will be in deep shite if changes aren't made. We are an elite program but so was Nebraska in the 90's.

nah we have too much talent to have losing season but we could drop to zook like years. wait we did that already in 08 and 09. they could happen again. but i do not see us having a losing record. too much talent. now if the talent is not brought in then that changes everything.

How long has it been since we were not preseason top 10?

2 years (2010 preseason polls - USA #16, AP #21) we then went 11-2.

It really doesn't matter. I can guarantee you LSU will beat A&M, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama next season.

Nebraska cocked up when they fired a head coach for going 9-3. The AD vowed to not let the program slide back to mediocrity after their fanbase believed they should be 12-0 every year. They haven't had a year that good in over a decade and have had 2 other coaches neither of which was as good as the one they fired.

The Truth Hurts

A team crippled by injuries and suspensions goes on to lose two games in the final minutes of games to end up at #12 and fans like you are crying like a kid who has been deprived of his favorite candy.

It's pathetic our team has so many cry babies in its base.

Preseason polls don't mean anything - neither Notre Dame or Louisville was even ranked in the preseason top 25 for 2012. Florida barely made the preseason top 25. Michigan was in the top ten and fell out of the top 25 by year's end. Of course you know all about preseason #1, FUSC.

The only thing that matters now is closing out a great recruiting class!

Which matters zero! Games are played on the field and not on talk shows. Let them hype Bama and A&M we'll see what happens on the field.

I love how the pundits say no one has been able to stop Johnny Heisman. Uhh... LSU shut him down so it can be done. The talking heads are giving him another heisman and legendary status already. Good. Makes it that much sweeter when we beat them. Don't think teams won't be ready for them.

Let them talk about the Bama dynasty and how no one can take them down. It will be so much better when we go to T-Town and spank them.

Update: I just ran outside and the sky is not falling. Mayans were wrong, the world is not ending.

It's not the truth that hurts, it's that we were so close that hurts. Gives us that much more to look forward to next year.

I expect to see you back here with a betting slip proving you made a lot of money on this very unlikely scenario. Otherwise your guarantee is meaningless.

So, I grew up in the Arnsparger, Hallman, Dinardo years too. That doesn't qualify me to be happy with a 10-3 record when we underperform yet again. I remain baffled by the BCSNCG last year. And even though we lost to BAMA again this season, I thought our players were ballers in that game. I can't say the same for the coaches. I am not sure why we field top talent year after year, and we scrape by on offense. To be fair, we had injuries, and I think it took its toll early and often this season.

FWIW I remain a loyal Miles fan, but this roller coaster on offense is a ride I don't want to get on again. The sky is not falling, but we are at a crossroads. 80th, or 90th, or whatever our offenses have ranked statistically for the past 3 years aint gettin it.

the defense was ranked 24th in 2008

24th!

and a change was made

the offense has been completely awful for 5 years ranked from 80th-115th... crowton left a year too late in 2011, 2011 season was great with a competent qb leading the team, then miles found a way to frick that up by benching the starting qb for throwing 2 int's against the best defense in the country.

now here were are again, in 2013 wondering what the hell happened to the offense that was supposed to be so good

Our SOS next year may play in to the lower preseason ranking.
