Because u know this or just guessing? Let me help. No one knows, but LSU expects there to be some sanctions. Perhaps we get through this with self sanctions, but the looming cloud is as damaging as anything right now and that’s what’s gonna keep us from getting in top talent.

I loved Wade as much as anyone, but he was a dumb arse to make illegal calls on his cell phone and pay players from personal accounts. WTF? It’s incredibly ignorant for those that keep blaming LSU for making the change they needed to make in this case considering the circumstances.

NIL is here, big money being paid to players everywhere with no strings attached and no consequences for schools. Don’t fool yourself, Woodward f’ed up bad firing Wade. The age of NCAA sanctions is over. Players are getting thousands/millions for nothing. What you gonna sanction for?

Media or not, blue blood or not. That’s besides the issue, will the university have your back? LSU didn’t and probably won’t for a while.. it’s costing us obviously

The truth is we're not a made basketball program. We tried to climb too fast and got put back in our place. Wouldn't have happened to LSU football or baseball. It's the same thing that happened to Ole Miss football under Hugh Freeze. The chosen programs can get away with it, outsiders can't

Disagree, we have all the resources to be a “basketball program.” However I don’t think we’re utilizing them.

The only way ur gonna win here now is cheating…. Wade did what he had to do. Bc of the support and what he was Working with. He had a tough gig lol. Can’t polish a turd, or make a 20$ bill a 100$ Bill. Poor facilities, admin/ fan support.

Takes money to make money… period. That’s in any sport. How bad do you want to win? If we cared Wade would still be on staff

Though it looks terrible now I'll wait until next year at this time to judge coach M.M. He has to be able to recruit?

I liked Wade and I shared the joy when his LSU teams won.

But he got caught on a federal wiretap strongly giving the impression that he was buying players. The NCAA has penalized schools for far less.

It would have been a bad look for LSU to fight to retain Wade, who is obviously guilty as charged. Woodward had every reason to think that keeping him would have given the NCAA an excuse to hand down bigger sanctions.

We need to get this behind us before anyone tries to contend that LSU and Woodward don't care about basketball. They will never care about basketball more than football -- so what?
LSU can be good again, but it's going to take NIL money, not necessarily a new practice gym. Simple as that.
