The timing is right for LSU to hire Tom Jurich next season, and we'd be FOOLS not to.

Everyone knows the legacy and status of LSU's athletic director hinges on the football hire, so if the shrimp boat captain continues this current trajectory we're on, Alleva is going to be fired next season.

Tom goat Jurich is the premier athletic director in collegiate athletics. Jurich was the first phone call Texas and USC made for their athletic director. As far as I can see LSU is the only major AD that could be searching for a new AD in the near future.

Say what you will about him hiring Petrino and keeping Pitino, but just remember where he is. Before Jurich arrived UL was a second rate Kentucky university where guidos came together. Not to mention UL was in the CUSA. Now UL is in the ACC and a top 20 athletic program.

We've saved one athletic director's career following a scandal, so I think LSU should go back to the people heppin' business and give Tom goat Jurich a shot at redemption.

eta: for baseball fans, Jurich turned UL from a zero to a top 10 baseball program with 1/4th of our resources #wood

Depends on what comes out going forward. Right now he's got plausible deniability, he just got brought down by hiring scumbags.

Yeah he's the hero we need but do not deserve.

Unless of course he's seriously implicated in this FBI investigation.

The guy does not play around. Hires top coaches all over the board.

surely there is no link between the blatant rules violations being uncovered now and the meteoric rise of UL athletics

Oh, I completely agree. There is plenty of time for the dust to settle. Alleva isn't going anywhere unless Yaw fails, which we'll have a good idea of by this time next season.

He didn't hire Pitino, and Pitino was cheating before Jurich arrived. Jurich made UL a powerhouse in football by hiring Bobby, and he made UL a powerhouse in baseball by hiring Mcdonnell.

jurich is a whore for corporate naming rights, but I am cool with Raising Cane's Arena

No chance in hell F King would hire Jurich if there's even a faint aroma of impropriety on his part.

omg our fan base's obsession with "on of us"

Please list Dan's accomplishments. Leaving Georgia Tech in shambles and inheriting Dabo Sweeney?

Jurich is an NBA player while Dan is Christie Sides

If nothing else, I respect Jurich for essentially admitting what everyone else wants to hide...that the ONLY thing that matters in college sports is winning. Have all the "great guys", "good christian men", "father figures" you want. If they go 4-8 three straight years, or fail to make the NCAAT for 5 years, they are out on their asses.

You think Louisville fans were sad Pitino was kind of a sleazeball while they were celebrating a national championship? Do you think it bothered them that Petrino was a lying horse's arse when they brought him back to UL? NOPE! Because both had a track record of success....The ONLY thing that matters.

Radakovich hired Paul Johnson, a football coach that ensured Ga Tech couldn't compete on a national title level.

Accomplishment 1: doesn't have the FBI and US Attorneys sniffing around his athletic department. That alone places him above the overrated Jurich.

On the bright side about Jurich, I'm sure he'll come cheap, optics being what they are.

Let me be clear, any and all would be an upgrade for LSU.

Well all of their sports have gotten far better and basketball is the only one that is confirmed dirty. That is just Pitino's way of doing things.

Dan would be a stupid hire. I'm unsure why everyone on here is obsessed with him.

Who is Kentucky's AD? Their baseball and football teams have improved greatly, both on the field and in the coffers. Their facilities just keep getting better.

Is Louisville competing on a national title level? GT has been to the Orange Bowl more recently than Louisville has been to a bowl of that stature.
