Obviously last night was a big blow to the LSU Football program (and baseball for that matter). There is no way to sugar coat it.

However, LSU is still stocked with major talent on both sides of the ball for years to come and could pull in what looks to be another Top 5 recruiting class for 2011.

2011 should be a big, big year for the football team as there will be loads of experience at every position for the most part and LSU will have 2 senior QBs with vast experience.

Beyond 2011 is now a big question mark because of the QB situation. We could be about to repeat history it appears in having to start a freshman or RS Freshman Qb in 2012.

With all of that being said, what is your current feeling on the state of the LSU football program now and going into the future?

what i can't understand is how fans don't realize just how many d1 q.b.'s out there that are considering transferring right now due to our situation.

so you think we'll get a transfer from another school? That would be a big help on the depth chart.

We will continue to struggle until can consistently develop qb's. The only way I see this happening is if Crowton is run off.

My biggest concern is not losing Lee (it is a big loss), its do we have the coaching to make the two junior QB's better for 2010 and 2011. If we have good coaching, this will all take care of itself. If the coaching isn't there, then we never had a chance to begin with.

We are in okay hands for this year and next. Jefferson is not that bad really. Obviously he needs to develop more and make quicker decisions but go look at his stats, he's actually in the top few in the SEC statistically. If he can improve just a bit we will be okay.

ya know thats great about having talent on both sides of the ball and all, especially on defense but the main question/topic/crisis here is:

WHOS GONNA FROW DA FUKIN FOOTBALL ?????

it's just pathetic to read some posts where people think that "OH shite, WE WANT HAVE A Q.B. FOR OUR 2012 SEASON."

c'mon, man.

LSU will compete for Championships in 2010, 2011

LSU will sign two 4*(ish) QBs in 2011 class + a top JUCO QB
LSU will sign two 4*(ish) QBs in 2012 class

LSU will win 100 games and at least two NTs this decade.

Les Miles will retire in 2022 with >.780 winning percentage, 4 National Titles, 7 SEC Championships and the new Tiger Stadium built in the early 2020s will be called Les Valley to signify the assured destruction of all the doubters.

Might as well forfeit every season until we get a 5 star QB. I mean, the rest of our talent at RB and WR and defense is useless without ZLee.

I think that this year and 2011 could be special years for LSU football...similar to 2006 and 2007.

I think it is completely fair to question Miles and Crowton as to whether they can coach a QB to the level of JR or MF. Remember both of those QBs benefited from the coaching of Jimbo Fisher...questionable OC but great QB coach.

This year will actually answer a lot of questions about the LSU football program and its future. Hell, there is an outside chance that Miles is not even at LSU in 2012.

Sidenote: I have felt for a while if by chance Miles is replaced, it will be either be with Gary Patterson or The Pirate. If the later, we could pull a decent intramural QB out of the stands and play QB.

You got it. If you don't have to respect the pass then our receivers don't mean shite and the running backs will be heading into a wall - - see last year for example.

I honestly think it's going to be alright. Defense is playing up right now. JJ and JLee will keep us in contention. Beat UNC and they can run deep on this schedule. Being outside the top 10 in preseason ranking is exactly where you wanna be.
