The stat jinx is real.

When the ESPN broadcasters point out a streak, it's doomed. Last week "27-0 when leading in the 7th" tonight: "27-0 when leading in the 8th."

I think it might be intentional.

It’s the law of averages working itself out. By the time that stat is interesting enough to highlight on the telecast, it’s past time for it to go the other way.

Yep, I knew that's how it would turn out as soon as they showed that and talked about it.

And the next time were in that situation they’ll bring it up again and say 27-1.

It’s still a remarkable stat that’s superior to what’s expected
