The pick six’s were not the only difference in scores last year.

The point is, the coaches felt/feel they needed to change the offense to protect the young QB. They did not do Lee any favors last year allowing him to flame so horribly. They feel with our young QBs we have a better chance to win playing conservative on offense. So far we're 5-1 with the only loss a 13-3 defeat to the #1 team in the country. I don't see anything there that says we need to radically change our current plan.

Sure, I want to see our offense produce more, maybe see Lee in there to give him a chance to regain some confidence and maybe re-emerge, or see Shepard get more touches, but I want to win games more.

No decline. My bad. 8-5, 3-5 is on par.

Give Miles a raise and extension.

Okay. I'll repeat myself. Les Miles is an excellent recruiter. As good a recruiter as anyone else out there.

And there was a reason other schools were backing off of RP. Yet, we didnt pa yattention to the warning signs that said he was going to be more hassel than he is worth.

Not a good example to use.

That says more about LSU than Miles.

I am not saying that losing RP didn't hurt, but if you believe that is the sole reason for LSUs woes last year and offensive woes this year, I have something I want to sell you.
You miss the point. It seems intentional.

Questions:

1. Would LSU have beaten Bama last year with RP?

2. Would LSU have had a better record last year with RP?

3. Would LSU's offense be significantly better this year with RP?

4. Would most people be laughing at your argument if Miles had the benefit of RP being LSU's QB for the past two seasons?

HINT: The answer to all four questions is yes.

First, RP got offers from lots of good schools. Second, he had committed to Texas so lots of schools didn't try as hard. Third, if I recall correctly, Miles had only been recruiting for LSU for a few months.

Your speaking in hypotheticals upon which you can superimpose any fact set and outcome you want. I am speaking in facts, Bud (8-5, offense ranked in the 100s, worst defense in the SEC last year, worst offense in the SEC this year, etc).

If Tebow had gone to Bama instead of Florida (like he almost did) they would have beaten a RP led LSU team. See how that works.

RP was a cancer to the team, period. He had to go, so there is no need in thinking about what could have been. That kid could have thrown games for bookies last year for all you know.

Give me something that proves that Miles is a better coach than Saban and give me something that proves that Bama has not surpassed LSU in the West. You cannot do it.

How about LSU's Bowl record under Miles vs its Bowl record under Saban, or just their records in general under both coaches.

I don't know if Miles is a better coach, but he's fricking LSU's coach. Saban is nothing more than a self-righteous, conceited little prick! LSU made him what he is today (he achieved it, I won't take that away, but let's not dismiss what the institution did for him either) and he left it as soon as he got the glory he wanted for himself.

This I do know: Les Miles>Nick Saban 7 days a week as a man and as a person!

Again I refer all of you to this! If you want to associate yourself with the likes of Nicky and his ilk for the sake of winning at any cost, go ahead, but don't wish it on the rest of us. Believe it or not, sometimes, some things are more important than wins and losses.

Well, you certainly have a creative imagination. I'll give you credit for that. Of course, your whole theory is pretty creative.

However, the facts are the facts. We had RP. He was our QB. He was an elite QB. We no longer have RP. One of LSU's biggest problems this year and last year is at QB. If RP had not forced Miles to kick him off of the team, no one would give your theory the time of day.

It's a shame that RP forced LSU to go through a rebuilding phase the past two years. LSU's QBs will get better. Miles recruited another elite QB last year. LSU will be back to the top very soon.

Well said, DeltaDoc and Polar Bear.

People rail against the messenger when the message is upsetting. Expressing concern about the state of the program does not equate to being less of a fan than those who choose not to consider the possibility that what they don't want to hear may have some merit.

I guess, we won't know for sure about whether or not the program is "declining" until this season plays out and possibly beyond that. I do worry however, that if we are in a decline, valuable time may be squandered before improvements are mandated. And personally, I am not satisfied that the only way to feel better about the current situation is to lower expectations and compare our current state to the woeful situation the program was in during the 1990's.

Yep and you are not, dipshit? So you can predict the future and that is not a hypothetical?

Nothing to see here folks. Just another self serving negative cynical douchebag, likely a gump posing as an LSU fan concerned for what he KNOWS will be our future.

Please ride another bandwagon. The Trojenz and the Domers love douchebaggery. Join them.

First I appreciate the LSU fans and the admin here allowing all of us other fans to come here and participate. This is the best board in college sports and I enjoy the time I spend here but I would like to say a few things. On Coach Miles: I keep hearing about how y'alls coaches can't seem to develop a QB. Well this is just not the truth. Y'all won a NC with a QB that was a first year starter but he was in the system. Look at our QB, first year starter but a redshirt junior...4 years in the system and he still struggled bigtime this past weekend. Ryan Perilloux was a continuous frick up and instead of ignoring it coach Miles did waht was best for your program in the long run and got the poison out of the locker room to prevent the decline of the LSU football program overall. Truth be known he probably did what was the best thing for the kid and for LSU. I respect him for picking what was right over winning a football game right now instead of building a solid future for LSU. Y'alls QB last year was a first year starter and this year JJ is a first year starter and if JJ read this board last year and the comments that were made about Lee he is probably scared to throw the goddamn football. None of us here except maybe a few have any idea how complex a D-1 offense can be and what it takes to learn it, practice it, and go to school full time. What these guys do is like having a full time job in a factory busting their arse and going to college. Playing D-1 football is a job it is not like working 20 hours a week in the lobrary putting books back on the shelf so that you have beer money on the weekend. Y'all held Florida to their lowest offensive performance since 2005 and came within 10 points of winning the game against the defending NC's with a QB that is a great athelete but has only played in 6 or 7 games. Coach Miles is one of very few coaches in the country that have won a NC. His mentor at Michigan never did it. Coach Miles has probably recruited better than Saban and that is not luck. It is because he is a genuine person and the kids parents see that in him. They know he is a good man and they trust their kids with him. He has represented y'alls University with class since day one. He took the job and had a tragedy take place for your entire state in his first year and he stood right there and faced the fire for LSU and the state of La. The entire country was proud to see y'all take the field that year and it meant the world to every true football fan in the country and especially in the SEC to see y'all run out of the tunnel. The entire SEC fanbase pulled for y'all. The Michigan job came open, which we all know was a dream job for coach Miles, but his "damn strong team" had a chance to win the SEC CG and then the NC and again he chose LSU over himself and stood to face the fire. Criticism is ok from fans and we all do it, but most of what I hear is bullshite and I would suggest that about 90% of y'all shut the frick up and try standing behind coach Miles the way he has stood behind LSU and the people in Louisiana when he could have chosen himself. Y'all are 5-1 with your only loss being to the defending NC's that are still #1 by the way. Y'all are still in the hunt for the West, for the SEC Title and possibly the NC and y'all are talking about getting a QB ready for next year. What about now. Why not focus on stomping a mudhole in the arse of every team remaining on your schedule? To be honest with all of you, Y'all sound like the majority of the BAMA fans that y'all hate so much. Y'all hate them for acting just like y'all are acting now. I know this was too long but I just wanted to say. Now go stomp Auburns arse and then Tulanes arse so you can show up in Braynt-Denny Nov 7th with one loss ready to play some goddamn championship football with gameday in the house. Y'all have a great day!! P.S. To Jordan Jefferson or somebody that know him, every fan here from any school, Alabama, Auburn or anybody else, would chop their dick off to be the QB at LSU but we are not talented enough, so just go have fun and play football, frick all of these people. by BamaScoop

It needs to be....this is one fricked up thread. We have obviously been transported to an alternate dimension when Bama fans are having to chastise LSU fans for sounding like Bamatards.

AND it is the week of the Auburn game, there are zero threads started by an Auburn fan, this board has just 2 threads concerning that game and one of those is wondering where the Auburn fans are!

But you don't deny it's true!

As I tried to point out, for those of you who will forgive anything just as long as you win, Saban is probably your man.
