One Shining Podcast Says a plausible buildup defense could be for Will Wade to say that “that Smart kid” could refer to former VCU coach Shaka Smart, anyone potentially linked to the previous regime, or anyone being recruited to/coveted by UT under Coach Smart, and their potential offers to the player.

There are multiple interpretations that provide ample plausible deniability. Take your pick.
Our leadership is trash from the top on down. The governor, the board, the university president and the AD are all part of the problem.
