What is it? I see it as something the masses just want to see happen which is not good enough of a reason. Other than that what is the point? Yall already don't go to the games and won't go. What does it matter?

The team is not going to get any better by firing O. I haven't seen the team completely disconnect and quit yet and if that happens I'll be the first one to change my stance.

But this isnt a Les Miles situation where he had his claws on the offense and by removing him we'll see an immediate improvement. Orgeron isn't calling plays. Orgeron isn't setting up the defense play to play. O is failing this year because he hired two coordinators that aren't coordinators are we going to fire them along with Ed tomorrow? 0% chance. It's done he's fired regardless. The West is still in theoretical reach(I know lol) so what would be the actual point?

The admin is already seeking his replacement so that's a non argument.

Earlier they fire him the better. They need to get the job opening out there and the process fully started. That being said I do think there's a decent chance they let him finish out the season.

If you don’t fire him, you’re definitely gonna see last night for the remaining 6 games.

To begin open negotiations with the next coaching candidates.
To get back on track recruiting.
To acknowledge the the program will be going in a new direction asap.

People are not seeing any accountability, changes, explanations and that is the message being sent - for whatever reason is going on in that program

And that, my friend, is the issue

If there is one thing O is pretty good at it is being an interim head coach. He can be his own interim head coach.

This. If the problems were limited to being merely on the field, we could let him finish out the season, but the guy is a ticking time bomb off the field. It has already gotten ugly, and will only get worse. The sooner it happens, the better.

O is a volatile a-hole who will keep getting the same questions over and over and will keep on saying more stupid shite that just makes the media attention on our situation worse. Do you see him making it to the end of the season without a complete meltdown as the walls close in?

O continuing to recruit as a lame duck all the way to the A&M game? Are you fricking insane. That will go well. Recruits need to be given time to adjust to the move and the Monday after the A&M game is only a couple of weeks from the early signing period. That’s too late.

The team is already quitting on him. Watch the defense in the second half of last night’s game. Do you think that will get better somehow? If you can’t see it, it’s because you don’t want to.

O is passing over several younger players who need to be developed to see what we have for the future because he’s still trying to save his arse. Nuss, the young safeties, LBs and DEs need to be playing and O isn’t going to do that. There is a better chance of keeping more of them from the portal if they actually get time on the field to close the season, rather than riding the pine under a lame duck coaching out the string.

Say what you want, but the work the administration needs to do to make a hard list of coaches who they know will have serious interest in the job and what they will need in a contract is much easier to do with O completely out of the way. Your absolutist statements to the contrary are bullshite.

You actually talked about this team being one game away from controlling its own destiny in the West in an earlier thread. That alone is enough to completely discount anything else you say on the matter.

You obviously didn’t watch much of the game Saturday when the players didn’t give a shite about getting their teeth kicked squarely down their throat

because people are sick of seeing their beloved team in shambles and its a knee jerk option to "just make it stop, stop making me ashamed to be a fan of LSU"

that is pretty much it in a nut shell

most realize deep down it wont change anything if he is fired now or 3 weeks from now

And by getting rid of him now corrects both of those issues?

Let it play out. It will all shake out in the end.

Because the team has fricking quit on him? What more reason do you need than that? He’s going to get our players hurt because they’re playing disinterested ball. They don’t want to fight for him.

That’s really on the players. They do have a choice in how they respond to adversity

I posted this in another thread.

Here are some legitimate reasons the firing should be executed now:

(1) If the team quits on O - and it looked like they did last night - the lack of effort could result in a series of embarrassing blowout losses that further damage the brand and erode recruiting in the long-term;

(2) A toxic environment under a lame duck coach could increase defections, transfers, opt outs, disciplinary infractions, and general discontent;

(3) Until a change is definitively made, opposing coaches will decimate LSU in recruiting with O's current reputation. Presumably, he has very little credibility with recruits already;

(4) Making a change now could infuse both the players and the fanbase with hope;

(5) Although unlikely, O could score some monumental upset or eke out a .500 record, which would make it more difficult to fire him at the end of the season and could prolong the decline of the program, especially if there is some groundswell of sentimental support for him because he is a native. A humiliating loss to a perennial cellar-dwellar like KY provides political cover for his immediate firing.
