You know, I'm not real sure what you're getting at here, but I'm pretty sure it has close to nothing to do with head coaches hiring top assistants. Just sayin'...

Why should I not be posting on here? Is it because I am telling the truth? I posted here to give some of the fans who wanted answers to how things REALLY work at LSU.
I'll bet it won't take long for you to reprimanded for spewing off against your employer.
You're stating quite the obvious though, everyone here realizes how hard it is to let go of someone whom you have personal bonds with and whatnot, but at the end of the day, you have to wake up and realize when it could mean your job as well.

Thanks for posting! I'm just concerned you might get in trouble at work. If you are CPM's son tell
your dad thanks for coaching at LSU.
He's provided us years of great baseball! We are fortunate to have him as our coach!

Not saying u are wrong, but damn.... Never thought id see someone try put a rant into words way worse than myself and other rantards.
You are talking about baseball coaches specifically, but you talk like this is a wide spread thing with LSU athletics. All the way down to the quidditch team.

Stuff you may not know about LSU athletics and how potential assistant coaches and people that work in the athletic department are selected. Head coaches are lazy and base their coaching decisions on recommendations and word of mouth. Most don't even know how to properly read resumes or conduct an interview. As for people who work in the athletic department there is an HR computer application which is a joke. LSU and many other universities have a computer program that throws out QUALIFIED applications based on age, race, credit score and keywords. The sad part is so many great people never get a chance to even interview. Instead LSU continues to hire recycled individuals from universities or other coaching staffs. Working in sports is a tough business to crack not because the work is hard but it's based on who your dad is and did you play some where. Trust me when I say the ones who played some where are the worst. I'm sick and tired of kids getting jobs because of who their dads are. The current opening with football involving the assistant director of operations and assistant director of player development is a severe disappointment.

Hang on a minute.
Werent positions such as assistant director of player development put in place for the sole purpose of giving a friend a job? They do nothing but wear nice LSU gear.

Is there a different program that weeds thru football and basketball coaches versus baseball, softball and swimming? Just asking, because we have a pretty different race make up in those coaching staffs.
Is that how we got rid of Crowton, did he miss a payment at the RentaCenter?

First off, this is a load of crap. All HR for LSU is handled by LSU Human Resources Management. Your credit score is never run and background check is only done after hired. You arent even screened on Race as thatd be a federal violation and you have the option of not reporting. Background checks I know costs $100 a pop to run. Departments make job postings to the LSU System Job Website. (LSU.edu>LSU A-Z> Job Opportunities). The issuing department can set mandatory criteria that applicants must have to comply. LSU HRM then physically forwards the qualified candidates by the criteria set forth in the system (which by the way are yes/no questions the applicant checks). Someone from the Department then sorts the resumes and picks qualified candidates.
You want to critique bad hires by the Athletics Staff then fine, don't blame it on LSU Hiring Policies or Athletics Administration for individual coaches incompetence.
ETA: Dont masquerade as somebody with knowledge because you know very little.

University of Houston Head Coach disagrees with you; he fired the pitching coach after this season because they weren't winning.....biggest issues were that they couldn't hit or field.

This guy is full of crap. Pay no mind. If a coach wants to get rid of someone, they do it. It's done everyday to professional staff. All coaches are unclassified workers which means they serve at the pleasure of LSU and are not protected employees.

He's saying that if you know the coach you can bi-pass all the computer screenings and that had Javi applied the computer screen would not have allowed him into the candidate pool.
Coach simply called his favorite former player and asked if he wanted to try coaching. Heck of a first job.

Why do you say the positions are a joke? Bad candidates? I was thinking of applying for both of those but I don't get my degree until August

Im calling bullshite on this guy

That happens everywhere. My point is that he acts like there is some conspiracy where people are disqualified from consideration based on a credit score, race, etc. which is complete BS.
And Id assistant coaches aren't typically publicly posted positions, they are generally decided by the current staff in place as compared to Athletic Directors or Information Directors.
Seems like he is just mad at Maineri for picking who he liked, Javi Sanchez
