OK. Perrilloux left Texas to go to LSU. Do call Perrilloux a success? In what delusional world would that be.
ZM was a UGA cast off. Do you want to hang your hat on LSU getting other schools' cast offs to play the most important position? I hope not.
Harris may be good, but we do not yet know. Same for FF. So, there you have it. In more than 10 years at LSU he has produced nothing at QB. Zero. Zilch. Nicht. Nada.

Mett only ended up at LSU because he had no other options. He didn't recruit Mett
What? Mett could've went to any program in the country. He absolutely had to recruit Mett. Mett was the #1 juco recruit in the nation.
Ryan Perrilloux? Give me a break he was terrible.[/quote]
Did you just say the 2007 SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME MVP was terrible? He made an NFL ROSTER as a qb and has a superb owl ring. You can't be a terrible qb and make a NFL roster.

As I said, Mett was not a CLM recruit. He was an UGA reject.

Except for his offers from Bama, Arizona and Iowa State.

You must be trolling.

He was the #1 juco recruit in the entire country. He had committable offers from Bama, , Texas, Louisville Arkansas, and Tech a&m. Do posters even look shut up before saying it?

Miles offensive philosophy is that of the Big ten in 80-90's three yards and a cloud of dust, just throw enough to keep them from stacking the box, don't turn the ball over, control the clock.
This is simply revisionism...sorry to say.
When LSU and Miles have had a QB that he REALLY trusts and can push the ball vertically down field, we/he does.
We did it with Russell in 2005 and 2006.
We did it with Flynn in 2007.
2008 was the start of a bad trend, but it was a result of losing Perriloux in the offseason (who was absolutely going to push it downfield) and then Lee being put in a TERRIBLE situation before he was ready AND being asked to push it downfield. The result was a turnover machine that cost LSU multiple games. When Lee finally got hurt (and our a-hole fans CHEERED because it meant Lee would have to go out and, cough cough...true freshman Jefferson would have to come in, Miles went into a shell and played ball control. This is basically where LSU was from the end of 2008 until the beginning of 2011 when Lee proved to Miles that he wouldn't turn it over...until he did twice on the road to BAMA getting him benched AGAIN and then we went back to JJ and ball control.
2012 saw Mett throw it a bunch
2013 saw him throw it more.
2014 saw a near repeat of 2008 where Miles had a guy he couldn't trust to throw it downfield and a freshman he trusted less.
I mean...I'll never say that LSU's QB play has not been a roller coaster, but this narrative that Miles has only always been ball control and limited safe passes is just not in any way true.
What will 2015 bring? Don't know for sure, but I'd bet it will be based ENTIRELY on how comfortable Miles feels with whichever QB he has under center. If it's Harris and he's careful with it, then given his skill set AND MILES' HISTORY WITH GUNSLIGER QB's we can expect him to throw a good bit. If he's not sold on Harris and it's Jennings, we know exactly what to expect...run, Run, RUN! That being said, we're a team who has a Heisman candidate at RB, so we're gonna run it a ton anyway...but how much we throw it will be based much more on the ability of the QB's to not terrify Miles' with turnovers than it does with Miles' own hate of the forward pass.

Holy shite. Do you think Mett was forced to go to lsu? You do realize juco players are recruited just like high school players, right? You do know Mett had offers from Bama, Texas, Louisville, A&M and Arky, right? Miles most certainly had to recruit Mett and if you think he didn't you need to educate yourself on juco recruiting.

Why does it matter how Mett or anyone else ends up at a school?

JJ and JLEE combined for a top 5 ranking in pass attempts and so did Mett. Miles throws the ball when he trusts his qb.

What did Ryan P ever win at LSU? NOTHING! He was a terrible LSU QB. That's why he was behind Matt Flynn the entire time he was at LSU. Yes, Matt Flynn....who actually played in NFL games as a QB!
Mett was a Georgia reject. LOL. His own state school didn't want him. Besides, what did he win at LSU ?
You people need to take off them purple and gold glasses and your Les Miles t-shirts and look at the facts. Oh RYAN P. helped LSU win the sec championship! Big deal! Was he the reason we got there? Hell no!

Even in 2008 when Lee was constantly throwing pick-6s, Les kept sending him out there until he got hurt towards the end of the season.

How many games did you watch in 2007? One? None?

And the numbers prove that he's trusted them more often than not while at LSU.
When LSU's offense has been forced to be stagnant, it's horrific to watch...no doubt. But there's just no reason to pretend that Mile's hates throwing the ball to make that point. In fact, it's that kind of hyperbole that makes having REAL discussions about issues with the program (and there certainly are some, as there are at any major program) nearly impossible.

Ryan P. was not a good qb. Sorry.
I probably watched way more than you.
