He caught lightning in a bottle, just like Chizik. Assistant coaches attended a seminar where Brady was speaking and lobbied hard for O to go get him. And if everybody knew how good Burrow was going to be, Ohio State would've started him over Haskins. Lololololololol

yes, and O gets full credit.

But they’re gone, and so is Aranda, and we saw the abomination of 2020.

2019 was glorious, but O can’t live off that for long. We aspire to be an elite program, and one anomalous season isn’t enough.

Do we expect 15-0 every year. Of course not. But we should be among the best teams in the country most years.

It doesn't matter how it happened. Orgeron made the decisions that led to the title. Just as he gets the blame for what bad hires do, he also gets the credit for what the good hires do. Same with the players. He gets credit for landing Burrow just as he gets blame for bringing Giles. That's the way this works. It doesn't matter which coaches did what. He hired them and he's the one with the win/loss record.

You are missing my point.

The OP and quote that he's referencing is pretty different than what O originally said...and the context surrounding what he said made the reaction pretty damn close to reasonable.

I don’t know anyone who is upset with Orgeron and his involvement in the Dline.

Orgeron is not on a hot seat.

The negative people on this rant are ridiculous

It doesn't matter if he gets credit for that season. It still doesn't mean that season was anything more than lightning in a bottle. Chizik got credit for the national championship when he had Newton. And we see exactly how he fell off the cliff after that. I just think we're headed in the same direction with Orgeron and a lot of people are too blind by 2019 to see it.
