The program seems directionless under Kelly

I do not see a proces in place that can allow the team to succeed. The offense looks like a seat-of-the-pants operation at this point. There are breakdowns in communication. How can a 3 man front apply so much pressure? No consistency anywhere on that side and maybe worst of all, no evident attempts to make adjustments.
Someone please make some sense of it.

take your anger out on a clown who should have a mob at his door aka woodward who gave this jackass this ridiculous contract which basically handcuffs us for years longer. TAF needs to say frick the AD and BOS and make all $$$ decisions moving forward for hiringa nd firing and buyouts.
DO not tell me we could not have gotten a young up and comer to do no worse than this jackass we have. for way cheaper and for like 4 or 5 years.
his contract would be basically up with no or minimal buyout and we could cut him loose if not happy and start over. but no. we are stuck for 4 more years. unfrickingbelievable. if kelly would not take a 4 year or 5 year contract you said ok we will look elsewhere.

BK has stabilized the program but doesn’t look like he can elevate it to the next level

Ya'll keep saying this, but the program was in such a state of disarray after O that any young up and comer would have crashed and burned.

I think the only objective fact in Kelly’s favor is that he appears to have stabilized the player talent/acquisition given what he inherited.
The actual coaching, development and his willingness to be accountable isn’t evident.

Who?

It is. BK is a carpetbagger.

Which is primarily why he was hired with the thought that with LSU's resources, he would be able to reach that next level he couldn't reach at Notre Dame.
The 2nd part hasn't come to fruition.

you have no clue. you are projecting. with NIL $$$ he may have been fine.
but lets say he did fail. either way we would not have a 55 million buyout. we would owe nothing after 4 year contract. cut bait and go fishing.
or maybe we shoulda went after other coaches?
like this guy?
but LSU was too chickenshit? scared of public perception?

It is looking more and more like a bad hire.

He was hired to stabilize the program over the first half of his contract, which he’s done, and to bring LSU back to title contention over the back half, which doesn’t look likely.
His shortcomings as a coach we made clear by opposing fans, we (fans) just hoped the talent rich recruiting grounds and nearly unlimited financial backing would cover them.

Stabilized it into mediocrity at best.

I find no reason to think we are moving toward your stated "second phase". Just drifting, unmoored. The offense needs to be re-thought.

The hire made little sense given Kelly's age. A 10 year guaranteed contract was a huge mistake. Kelly is not doing it. It will be a shock if this team does not lose 4 more.

I’ve never understood this nor will I ever. It’s not like Kelly wouldn’t have come for a lucrative 5 year deal. Why in the F did the guy in charge feel the need to lock someone down for 10 years w this BS contract?

He would not have come for 5 years

It made perfect sense when you view it through the lens of program stability.
Kelly was good at running all of his programs at every stop and LSU was a mess heading into the new NIL era.
Kelly brought professionalism and stability to LSU. Now, he hasn't gotten LSU over the hump on the field and if he doesn't over the next 2 years, the program is set up for next guy to seemlessly take over and run things (see Freeman at Notre Dame).

I disagree with you on a lot, but I wanted Meyer bad. To hell with the media perception, Kelly’s media presence is horrible too.

Kelly claims he couldn't win a national championship at ND. He would have come for five years with extensions up to 10 if he met goals along the way. LSU sold itself short.
