I think 1/9/12 ruined les, he went off the rails with more physical practice less film work.

There were rumors that the 08 season was the same way. It could explain why we looked so much slower last November

Bingo. It's obvious Miles undercoached 2 minute situations his entire time here.

His comments about "attention to detail" was just a cliche to pacify the masses.

Miles/Cameron was Dinardo/Tepper part II. And it's a damn good thing LSU parted ways now.

Folks here need to understand, while Mizzo struggles offensively, they have had an above average defense since joining the league. That defense is why they were able to win the East back to back and their HC now is their old DC.

?? They have the number 1 passing offense in the SEC. We'll see what DBU is made of this weekend

I'm down for the change, but I just don't see this oline coming together. Defense is fine, offense may still stink no matter what plays are called.

Quick passes and utilization of the whole field can mask a below average offensive line....and I'm not convinced that they are that bad....they've just been playing bad. Perhaps with a little energy and arse chewing in practice (which wasn't present before) there will be an improvement.

I think our line has been bad due to lack of film study and looks like they were over worked in season. I think that has been obvious for a while now

What happened to all those posters that said for years that Miles ran tooth fairy type practices and needed to practice tougher?

long practice does not necessarily mean tough practice

its possible miles ran long hard physical practice as seen by big cat drills, but we clearly didn't practice hard on attention to detail type things or correct mistakes. Also i think most smart people believe in less physical practice in season and more physical in the spring.

Hey, I believe in that too. I was just pointing out a rant myth. I'm with you on the attention to detail stuff.

Just for the record, and I guess just in case there's a need for clarity, I've been saying for a while that I think LSU's practices under Miles were inefficient. Which is not the same as soft, tough, long, or hard.

Not saying you're calling me out, but I've been pretty vocal about that and you may have been remembering some of the posts.

agreed. there is plenty of evidence of that, if you look hard enough. I always wondered if I was seeing what I expected/wanted to see. Could never make up my mind.

Those people likely mistook the lack of execution as Les not being physically hard on players. I think he started that when he thought he could double down on the offense and just power our way through people after 1/9/12.

While I have my worries as well, you will be amazed at how much better an oline can look when the other team doesn't know exactly what the offense is doing.
