The pick six...

I have watched that play frame by frame.
Two things stand out but are blurry.
One, is that the receivers left arm is being held by the DB, and that caused him to be offbalance, and it looks like the pass actually deflects slightly off his helmet and into the arms of the DB directly in the path of that deflection.
Then, our wide receiver just quits after three steps and doesn't even try to stop the DB from scoring. He takes three steps and stops.
This wasn't on Leavitt. Not the hold or the deflection.

I agree but we may have to get used to that type of officiating against us this year

The opposite for number 77. Our lineman ran his butt as fast as he could and almost reached him around the 35.

I’m quite sure that if Lane saw it, it will called out in team meetings - so I’m not too worried.
If the HT speech was any indication last week, our coach has a lot of Saban’s “qualities” that will get their minds right.

Agreed, and I’m usually all over players who seem to give up on a play. Not this time, however. I really don’t see the point in burning the energy to sprint 100 yards when the guy had a 15 yard head start.
