Joel Klatt and others have been on talk shows and the OU attack has been exposed

Run Run Run

They want the OU RB and Hurts to each run the ball at least 20 carries each. They also plan to move CD around to try and get away from Stingley.

They basically said follow the Ole Miss game plan.

So basically you need a spy on the QB (Queen?)
and Stingley on CD with help from a safety (double team).

They're Mississippi St with a better QB and NFL WR's, and better coaching.

K Fulton is about to solidify his draft stock.
Shut him down, K!

Only works of you score along with LSU. Or, they have to convert 3rd downs when running. If LSU gets ahead, this plan goes out of the window.

Or....what Mike Tyson said, “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”

They have been more run-based than your typical Oklahoma team all year. Hurts only attempted more than 30 passes 1 time all season, while he had 4 games with more than 20 rushing attempts.

This term “spy” has lost all meaning on this site. It’s not quite as easy as saying “this LB will spy the qb and all of our problems are solved”. Sometimes, stay with me here, offensive teams have players assigned to block the defensive team’s linebackers.

A “spy” only has the capability of helping out on designed passing plays when the qb tried to scramble and run. A designed qb run is going to have the linebackers either blocked, or a play fake to keep them out of position giving he running qb an extra step head start.

Their best running back is done for the season (Sirmon).

Kennedy and Campbell? I believe are 2 huge backs. None with break away speed.

Hurts is their best running back now.

You blitz and spy him the entire game. Lock down man across the board with Vincent/Hampton covering the top.

Stephens should be the spy.

Nevertheless - we need to have a man on him - and special attention to CD. Their supporting staff is not great enough to make us do otherwise - imho.

Brooks and Delpit are about to go off. Having Mo Hampton at S will allow this defense to attack and those 2 are about to go off, maybe even Chaisson as well.

losing Sermon hurts, but he wasn't the starter when he went down.
Brooks is the starter and got banged up against Baylor. His status is currently unknown.

they only way you have a chance against LSU is to balanced

a run game isn't the answer...ask UGA how that went..

Ole Miss lost by 30....

an accurate QB who is mobile is the biggest threat to beat LSU...

that's OSU or Clemson's QB...edge to Clemson's in my book

Better love him to the slot and force Vincent or Stevens to cover him.

Are they forgetting about Fulton?

I have a feeling that no matter where lamb lines up, Fulton or Stingley will be there.

NO!
We need to have a team playing gap responsibilities. As Choupique pointed out, a spy is 1990’s stuff. If you consistently try that Oklahoma will set a playoff record and score over 70 points. It’s a good strategy to set a spy in the short middle zone on obvious passing downs. That, or a cage rush, should be employed in every obvious passing situation. But, on other plays, we need to stop Hurts like we stop every running back, by playing gap and beating your man.

When we assign a spy it better be Delpit, Vincent or Stevens. Hurts would eat alive any other likely candidate.

not as much as people are making it out to be. The biggest difference is the runs are coming from the QB, not the RBs.
2018 rush attempts per game 38, pass attempts 28
2019 rushing attempts 41, pass attempts 26.
Unlike years past, it doesn't take a genius to realize that a ball control game plan would be the way to go against LSU instead of a shootout. So the media saying that isn't some sort of revelation.

LOOK WHAT HAPPENED WHEN OU LOST CD, THEY STRUGGLED IN THE PASS GAME.

TAKE AWAY CD WITH A DOUBLE TEAM AND YOU FORCE HURTS TO BECOME A RUNNER ON PASSING DOWNS HENCE THE SPY.

Don't know bout stingley on CD lamb. I keep thinking of the bama game where he got burned most the game, it was kinda was not stingley best game vs Florida or Auburn either. Like to see stingley step up his game who ever he covers. Don't know if he had his head in his arse in those games or what but he needs to step up
