Don't pretend that people are downvoting getting a good commit. They are downvoting the idea that a kid committing in April is proof positive that Orgeron is doing a good job and the fact that someone is creating a new thread about it and puffing their chest about it. We've all seen kids change their minds too often to get overzealous now. Does that mean this kid will definitely recommit? Of course not, but let's wait until signing day before we start trying to throw this in people's faces.

The purpose of downvoting is to downplay anything O does.

Don't pretend? Pot meet kettle

bullshite. If that kid signs, it will be great news.

The point is, he hasn't done anything in this case yet because the kid isn't signed. It's that simple.

Excuse me for not celebrating a single 4* recruit 8 months before national signing day.

I'll stop being critical of O and the job he's done when he proves he's capable of doing the job. So far, he hasn't done that and it's looking more and more likely that he will go down as one of the worst hires in LSU history.

So sorry for my negativity.

O pumpers have been beaten down to such low standards that they treat a recruiting commitment like a bowl win. This kind of stuff was EXPECTED with Les, now O needs to boast about it. That is serious insecurity.

The thread about Chasen Hines switching to OL got 99 upvotes and 2 downvotes. That was a very positive thread and it was by Ree no less who people love to down vote. Good news it met with positivity for the most part.

The program is better off at DL, LB, OL, WR...RB, DB have dropped off but nothing dramatic. QB is about the same as it has been.

Remember when we short handed on the DL, OL, LB against Miss. State and Dak Prescott? That was 2014. We've come a long way at those 3 positions. If you can't admit to that, well your not objective.

Hi Jeff!

Great breakdown! Yep, I remember 2014 well! Best recruiting class in history had just come in and we had freshmen starting all over the field. We were also coming off of the best four year stretch in LSU history, so maybe taking a step back wasn’t so surprising and had earned the HC a little longer leash than our current leader.

Oh, and it also happened to be the strongest year for the SEC pretty much of all time. That MSU team you were talking about was #1 in the country from mid October to mid November and is probably the best team they’ve had in the modern era. And yeah they beat us pretty bad but at least the team kept it together enough to make a good show at the end of the game instead of throwing in the towel like last year.

The Auburn game that year was more similar to the MSU game last year. A total beatdown on the road. Of course we had a true freshman QB making his first start on the road vs a fifth year senior at MSU last year.

And while that Auburn team ended up 4-4 in SEC play just like MSU last year, Auburn was ranked in the top 10 the entire year until the last week of November when injuries wore down a team that looked like it was going to be a national title contender like they were the year before when we played them in September.

We also had the huge win over 7-0 #3 ranked Ole Miss, similar to the Auburn win last year. And we didn’t even have to go down 20-0 to remember we were there to play football!!

Arkansas was a brutal loss and probably what started Miles’ demise. But that was a decent Arkansas team on the upswing that had taken #6 A&M to OT, lost to Alabama by 1, hung with a top 10 UGA team and almost beat #1 MSU in the four weeks before our game, then blew out #8 Ole Miss 30-0 the week after beating us.

A&M was also ranked top 10 for over a month and LSU started the year by beating a very good Wisconsin team that won 11 games finishing #13 in the country and beating Auburn in the bowl game.

Quite a different situation than the current state of affairs in the SEC the past couple of years.

So it’s super exciting to hear how “the program is better off” at all those positions and the same or no real drop off everywhere else. Can’t wait to see how “we’ve come a long way” this year under Orgeron!!! A team this “STACKED” like you say is sure to do much better than the 8-4 year Miles had against the toughest schedule we’ve ever played!!!

Question mark at QB?? Eh, what’s new? With such a STACKED DL, OL, and LB compared to the trash we had in Miles’ second worst year of all time the sky is the limit in 2018!!!

10-2/11-1 here we come!!!!

Bye Jeff!!!!

So you were happy with 2015, or wanted Miles fired?
Including that McNeese cancel year, he reeled off 5/6 seasons with 10W including NC appearance.
I can't believe any one can say we're better off now with a straight face.

Please tell me you don't really believe this. A football coach should be judged on his ability to win games, not where he was born.

Why in the frick should we rejoice in commitments? I don't give much of a frick about that. It means absolutely nothing if they don't produce and flourish. Winning games is what I am concerned with.

This will get ignored by a certain segment of the fanbase, as usual.

For them, Miles averaging 10 wins per over 11 seasons wasn't good enough because the titles had stopped coming. BUT, Ed Orgeron has done a fantastic job and deserves all the credit in the world, despite failing to win 10 games in a single season. Ever.
