Hopefully they don’t end up in the Bronze Medal Game.

Drake lost their head coach and the good players from their team to Iowa.
DePaul has a new head coach from Ohio State, so they are a bit of a wildcard. But they have been bad for a while as a program.
Coming from a position of ignorance, Georgia tech didn’t make any splashes in the portal and lost their leading scorer. I’d be willing to say they will be our main competition in this. Honestly this seems like a bad tournament in a small venue that you could have scheduled random local schools and a mediocre power conference school and gotten the same results. I think we should win this.

Calling an optimistic post about our basketball program playing on a national stage “rage bait” is definitely a take.

Here's the optimistic post
True. But they hired S. Dakota State's HC, who has been pretty good there. Made the NCAAT 2x in 6 years...likely would have been 3x if not for 2020). The last two HCs at Drake were really successful. DeVries (now at Indiana) and McCollum (now at Iowa)
Last season was his first at DePaul...and they weren't good. However, they were slightly better than the truly awful they have been for quite a while. I guess that is something.
They improved from bad in year 1 to mediocre in year 2 under Stoudimire. Some fanbases would be overjoyed with that level of "success". Maybe the upswing continues?
On paper it is a very weak field. One solid mid-major program with a lot of question marks and three bottom-dwelling power conf. programs.
It should be an early season barometer, for sure. If this new (allegedly) well-funded roster is what some think it is, then it should definitely be more talented than Drake and DePaul, and at absolute worst, at talented as GT. Thus, if LSU struggles in what will probably be their first step up in competition that will send up some real red flags that this season won't be much, if any better than last year.

Another heavily downvoted OP to add to the list of heavily downvoted threads you make. Only replying just to remind people this is all you do. Zero value in any post you make. Dont bother replying as I wont repond.

Optimism is fine and all but it’s hard to call this a national stage. The tournament appears to have taken a step back. Perhaps they plan to add 4 more to make it an 8 team tournament like it was before, but right now it’s 4 teams that aren’t garnering national attention playing in a directional schools gym.
