Yes. I've been paying attention.

The LSU offense is coming.

They're getting better.

Let the offense come of age.

I wish there was a way to permaban anyone from the following phrases:

"holding stuff back"
"turn it on against good teams"
"saving stuff for Bama/Florida"

Etc, they're so far from the truth and don't have anything to do with our offensive struggles.

True dat- People keep acting like we are going to just 'find' the offense overnight. I believe it is more of a situation where 'what you see is what you get'. Three games into the season, & our offense just does not give you any sense of confidence, & in fact, at times, looks painful to watch. I really don't think Crowton was hired to have an offensive production two years running, ranked below 90th in the country...

Man I love the enthusiasm, But you heard Coach say these things last year without any changes when it came to players and the offense. It will be different when we get a quarterback.

what would make you as a fan feel better about our chances of winning for the rest of the season, For JJ to throw for 250 with 2 tds and 1 pick and lsu lose the game to WV or for JJ to throw for 85 yds but LSU win the game?

Yes and no. Three games in and we look like we have more big play potential than we did a year ago. Last year we had all of 2 plays go over 50 yards and in three games we have 3. We seem to be running the ball more effectively. Last year State held us to only 30 yards on the ground. This year, we got 167. We have not thrown the ball well at all this year but given the personnel is pretty much the same as last year, I don't think it is crazy to think that we could do just about the same.

This year's offense is not last year's offense.

if jj throws for 250, without watching the game, this would tell me we fell behind and that we had to air it out to catch up.

This would completely suck, btw. I, for one, am ok with the coaches not asking JJ to go out and win the game for them and putting the pressure directly on his shoulders. We all know what happened to J. Lee whenever that happened.

That is an easy way of stating the obvious....He can't get a grasp of the offense so we are going to tell him who to throw the ball to every play.

If he is too dumb to understand the dumbed down offense according to you, then why isn't his backup JL starting?

the doc: Miles is probably the most paranoid coach in the country. He holds everything close to the vest.

sooo, miles is as bad as saban, or saban is as bad as miles?

LSU is getting into the position to call the same offense it always has. Against MSU, there was a reason not to call the entire offense. LSU moved the football, did what it was supposed to do, and controlled the game. When LSU lines up with the best, LSU will have to throw it and run it, and LSU will be prepared to do that. Let the offense come of age.

2 years later we're all still waiting for this supposed offense

One thing I haven't seen anyone talking about is the time of possession of the offense. That's more important to the defense. What's ours look like?

It's not bad. We're a shade under 30:00 per game. That's not terrible considering our average starting field position. Also, our running game has been grinding it out and chewing clock this year.

I have been saying this all year, that it takes time to develope a team with as many young players as LSU has. It is the same thing Florida is going through with their offense, they lost a lot of talent and Tebow and it takes time to make things work and it will and I believe we will see it this weekend.

LSU 34 WVU 10

I SAY!

The pessimists on here keep saying that things may be ok now for our offense, but there is no way we can do this against AL or Aub or Ark, the better teams on our schedule. Well its obvious that our offense is improved from last year, to what degree is yet to be determined. That said, here is what JJ did against the "TOP" teams last year.

Aub. 21-31 242 yds 2 TD

Ark. 17-25 179 yds 2 TD 2 Int

Bama 10-17 114 yds 1 TD (and he was hurt in the 3Q I believe so these stats would likely be even better

Ga 18-27 212 yds 1 INT

and of course the one big laid egg

FL 11-17 96 yds 1 INT

but in his defense Tebow was only 10-16 for 134. Our defense could not stop the florida run game making it impossible for the offense to find a rhythm.

All this is to say, that JJ's numbers were respectable LAST year in the big games against the same top teams that the pessimists are trumpeting we will flop against this year. Aub and Bama are certainly no better on defense this year than last, probably weaker. Ark has no D and Fl defense looks to be our biggest test again this year. I do think JJ is slightly improved over last year and the offense too. To think that he won't be at LEAST as good against them as he was last year is just being negative for the sake of being negative. I don't fear those teams, the games will be hard fought close affairs just like they are every year.

I don't know why people seem to have such short memories from year to year. Haven't you guys heard Gordon Gekko on the trailers, "nobody likes a crybaby".
