Will the LSU commercial get pulled soon? Prime time national TV games are coming up and we have a commercial that looks like it was designed by a cross eyed, uneducated person.

I talked to Dr. Karam (the top marketing professor, consultant) about this the other day and he agrees that it is terrible and should be pulled. I don't understand how a commercial that bad is allowed to be broadcast.

It is a net negative. Horrible.

Why can't they show some shots of the campus, new business school, engineering renderings, maybe have mini interviews of some professors doing ground breaking research? More well rounded, not just football.

It's like a live cartoon/caricature of all the LSU stereotypes. ALl that's missing is the horrible, terrible, no-good poetry from last year's awful commercial. I just can't believe this is the best LSU has to offer. That purple/gold slogan needs to geaux, too.

Do you prefer the one from last year? Seems like a slight improvement to me. That slam poetry chick last year was Ronnie Lamarque cringeworthy

I didn't think it could get worse than the poetry rap last year, but at least it touched on different parts of the university.

Here is a link to a UCLA commercial. Well rounded. Great commercial.

The girl in the ad looks too old to be an LSU freshman.

More females than males are going to college now, so it has to appeal to them. And most people watching a football game aren't going to care about the astrophysics department or that a professor found a new fossil. So I understand the theme of keeping it light. The execution could be a lot better, though.

That ad makes the Frankie and Johnny's Furniture commercials look like advertising masterpieces.

Love that spot... The reason Marketing Professors are "professors" is they only know theory and have no real experience in the real world... Oh yeah... I've got 30 years creating same and more... Not that it matters but it's a lot more qualified than any marketing professor I ever met... And they ask me to come speak to them...

I think we are trying to attract the wrong people. There are plenty of other public universities in Louisiana for mediorce people to attend, why can't LSU stand up for itself and embrace/further it's role of the top public university in the state. I'd love to see LSU academic prowess begin to match it's athletic prowess. The Georgetown basketball program helped Georgetown University become better known and respected, attracting talent people with different talents from around the country and world.

LSU can do a better job framing itself as it continues to gain recognition through it's athletic programs. The commercial is not helping this, it is in fact hurting. Better off with no commercial or just a football highlight reel.

Such a terrible commercial.... somehow worse than the poetry one that mixed up grooving on the grounds with the fall pep rally ( can't remember the name)
