The last time LSU won its season opening game was in 2019.

The good news this year LSU opens with USC who also will not play an easy game prior to their matchup with LSU. I feel like the last two years FSU had an advantage because they had opening games with smaller schools which allowed them to workout any kinks before playing LSU.

I really hope CBK has this team more prepared going into the first game. That has to be a big focus, right?

ETA: I've been corrected about the LSU vs. FSU game last year. That game was FSU's opener too.

I doubt winning and having his team focused is important to Coach Kelly.

I hope we break this curse in Vegas, because it gets no easier with a road trip to tFake Death Valley for the first game in 2025.

USC will be by far the weakest opponent we’ve played in a while also.

They are rebuilding their whole team and still don’t have a defense

We better get some DT’s in the transfer portal, do not want to go against a Riley offense without a pass rush

This is exactly one of the games you (probably) will not need 315 pounders. You willl need pass rush packages all game long.

I don’t see why lsu wouldn’t be a double digit point favorite for this game.

Yet we keep playing big teams before our gauntlet SEC schedule.

I'm sorry, but SCarolina and Vandy aren't part of any SEC "gauntlet" that I can see. Nor is Arkansas or State.

SoCal won't overpower us in September, but they can usually sling the ball and rack up offense. I think that game will be close.

Great, now that you’ve said that they will look like 2004 USC against us. Saying that kind of stuff usually backfires when LSU plays them.

I'm Sick of those Off Campus , Week 0 Games.

We Play a hard enough Schedule already. If you want to bring in UNC or SMU plus 1 in-state school for a Home game, I'm good with that!

Crazy because I was always confident going into those week 1 big games. Even the 2 FSU games. To think they have started the season in the hole the last 4 years…. Disappointing to say the least.

I Agree, We need Quality Home Games. I don't want these travel over price Splash Games.

It's a lot better going to an opponents home Stadium on Campus, rather than what LSU been doing.

Neutral site games every 6 years are ok, But not every year.

Houston is a Fun town close by, as is Dallas, but Atlanta or Orlando is too far of a game for most to travel and be back to work on Monday.
