They are not leaving to spite Miles. We are seeing a change in college football similar to college basketball. If football players could be one and done and draw a lucrative contact like BB players they would do it too. It is occurring to a lesser extent in FB because the economics are not the same. We all knew Sam, Mingo, Reid, Logan and probably at least one RB was leaving before the season started. Minter had a much better year than expected and it makes sense for him to go. If Faulk had not been injured we would have fully expected him to leave. We're just a little surprised b/c he's testing the waters coming off an injury. I think Simon should wait but I expect him to get drafted. This is much more a testament to how good these players are and how well they developed while at LSU than some pending catastrophe. Can we please stop with all the gnashing of teeth? It is getting old.

But but but no other school in the country has players that leave as juniors. They want to come back to win a championship. No one at LSU says that. They must not have faith in our shitty coaches to get them there. I demand an explanation from our coaches.

It's been a year since this board was not full of whining morons. I fully expect another year of the same. I don't even know why I come look anymore.

I ain't going to my job as Chief Condiment Engineer at Winky Dinky Dog in protest.

Our Peach Bowl losing quality of a team was sooooo stacked we have a record number of juniors declare from a 10-3 team, makes perfect sense, clearly nothing going on internally within the program

Last year 61 players were early-entries into the NFL draft. It was a record. Let's say this year is something similar. LSU would have 10 of the 65 early entries. So LSU has 15% of the best underclassmen in the entire nation. I guess that would lead to a dominating team right?

13th in the nation in scoring defense and 9th in total defense doesn't add up to most early entries ever.

What about the offensive side?

I agree it is a sign of the times. I still don't think it is the right thing to do for most of them.

I agree 100%

for having such an "NFL ready" team, we sure didn't accomplish much

or maybe they aren't NFL ready

im curious what these rankings would be if our offense could keep the defense off the field for a little while

there's no doubt our defense struggled in some games, but when you're on the field for 100 plays against clemson, no defense is gonna look good at the end of the game

the fact is, we've had a national champion caliber defense for the past few years, we just havent fielded an offense to help them control games

thats why so many of these players declaring are form the defensive side of the ball
