I cannot believe how many people on here are taking this thread seriously. It's obvious the OP is not sincere and is trolling. Hell, the thread title alone should be a giant tip. If sincere it would read Johnny Jones deserves more time, Not The Johnny Jones deserves more time thread.

Good job OP.

I really was paying scant regard to what I thought was just an attempt at trolling down votes but it seems you are actually serious...

With respect to JJ's 'Australian pipeline', I'm sorry to inform you that the pipeline goes directly to St Mary's and after the Simmons disaster no talented Aussie will ever consider the LSU men's program again.

Coach JJ would definitely be in the running for 'worst college coach in America'. I recall the defence last year was that he is good when he has to do more with less and didn't really know what to do with Ben Simmons. Well this year he has a lesser squad with no big names and his game plan (if it exists) has pooped the bed.

Coach JJ reminds me of Coach Klein

You realize coach jones is still building, right? We have challenged st Mary's down under better than anyone else. I predict in 5 years coach jones will have expanded his sphere of influence into Western Europe.

It wouldn't matter where JJ expands his sphere.

If he couldn't make the NCAA tourney and was ashamed to compete in the NIT with the best player in the land, he is beyond hope!!!!!!

Let's assume coach jones ramps up his recruiting even more in Australia. Next step is Spain which produces a ton of nba players. After coach jones has established his superiority in Spain, we expand the sphere of influence into Argentina. If you recall they usually have good Olympic teams. With this international all star team combined with the la studs he is already bringing in I think jones will be all set. I doubt a rick stansbury or Kermit Davis can match that. I doubt they could find Australia on a map actually.

I'm not sure if you are joking or not anymore - that comment can't be serious.

There are currently 60 Australians playing Div 1 college hoops. I don't think JJ has cornered that market yet.

Spain is actually receding from their golden generation and there is not a huge amount of youth coming through at present.

Argentina, like Manu's hairline, has well and truly receded from their glory days though they do have one future NBA prospect.

Most Europeans prefer to gain their experience in Europe these days and jump straight to the NBA if they are rated. The standard of the Euro league is far far above that of the SEC

He did not get it done at North Texas. Overall record and in conference records barely over .500. Only one NCAA tourney appearance and a loss. He would not have gotten an interview at a major college except for his political ties at LSU.

Alleva and boosters made a mistake in CJJ. Time to get a better coach!!!! The rest of the SEC seems to be progressing and we are regressing. It's sad for LSU basketball.

I will be honest, I was one of the ones who thought "he is doing a pretty good job at north texas, I bet if he came to LSU and had more talent to work with he would be a good hire for the program". I was wrong and he needs to go.

Why stop on the 7 continents? I hear Alpha Centauri has few future NBA prospects.

I was about to adddress phase 4. Coach jones can expand into Canada after South America. Get a Steve Nash style point guard.

1999, I have to say, I agree. You've made lots of great points and im convinced that JJ just needs another recruiting class or two to get his guys in place. I think then implementing his complex system will be easier. He's still trying to change the culture from his predecessor. I mean seriously, if you can't feel the buzz at the
PMAC and around the program then you ain't paying attention!!

Thanks. I just don't want to see another Trent Johnson come and destroy everything coach jones has built. Especially the international recruiting I've pointed to. Lsu is a global basketball brand under coach jones.

I agree completely. He's so close to having us at a championship level. The kids are playing so hard for him and you can see they're so fricking close to getting it turned around. If JJ can keep scouring the globe for elite talent and getting the type of effort he's been getting then he absolutely has earned another year or two. I think he may just need to simplify the offense and we will see some immediate improvement from all these young players. JJ is lauded for his tactical expertise on the offensive end and runs a very complex system. His defenses always show up though and that points right back to him. Not sure why anyone would want him replaced now when they're so close...

1999 , just read your comments in the "Ignore it and it will go away" thread. As i thought , you started this thread in complete sarcasm and I'm glad to know that after readings some of your comments in this thread. LOL. Just curious as to why you started such a troll thread here. Anyway, glad to know that you weren't really supporting Jones.
