This year we beat top 10 Miami at a neutral site

Miami had no business being in the top ten. Matter of fact, they aren't even in the top 25 in the polls at this time.

beat top 10 Auburn on the road

Same thing as Miami. Had no business being in the top 10 when we played them and they aren't even ranked anymore. Although I will say it's a decent win since we've had so much trouble beating them in their home stadium. Since 2000, we've only won 3 times playing there.

Good win against a top 25 Mississippi State team, great win against a top ten Georgia team, disappointing loss to a top 25 Florida team.

I keep seeing people talking about this "gauntlet" of a schedule we have this season, and honestly, I don't see it. This years schedule isn't anything we haven't faced damn near every football season.

no Matter how you slice it if Eddie finishes this season up here with two losses he will be a major improvement over miles 15-11 tenure in his last 26 games. Eddie will have over 15 wins with less than half the losses by season end. No comparison.

I said you didn't participate and you didn't. If you say those threads didn't exist then you're either a liar or grossly misinformed. There are posters in this thread that actually participated in those threads and if truthful can corroborate. You're coming much closer than me to making up things.

I agree. But you said nobody doubted whether Orgeron could string together a few wins or have a good season, when the reality is most of the negas doubted his ability to do this. Maybe you really didn't doubt his ability to have a good season, but you weren't speaking for yourself in your post that I replied to.

I didn't say no one doubted his ability to win short term. I said anyone that thought that didn't know what they were talking about. Additionally I said that I never said that.

I didn't think he would have this much success this season. I seriously underestimated the impact that Burrow and Tracy would have, and he had a hand in getting those players, so he deserves credit for that.

However I doubt his ability to replace those players with players that will have similar impact. I don't think we'll be able to pluck ready-made QBs and insert them into our lineup. Eventually he will have to groom QBs that he recruits and he has not groomed a single good QB in his entire career.

Earl....

Still fighting the good fight.

Them tigahs are playing their arse off this year. Have enjoyed the hell out watching this team this year outside of a couple throw away halfs against rent a wins.

Doesn't he have offensive personnel to bring recruits along?

Are you saying that there won't be any transfers or junior college guys available or you don't think he can bring them in ? If Ed is nothing else he's a recruiter. I don't think this will be the issue that you think it will.

Again the comparison to 2015 is meant only as a reminder to the O pumpers beating their chest and bragging about how so called “haters” where WRONG!!!

I disagree that makes them "haters" though.

The haters were the ones who had made up their minds and closed the book on Orgeron based on their hatred of the hire and were unwilling to give him a chance to prove them wrong.

I wouldn't call everyone who was merely pessimistic and had doubts about his ability to win 10 games or compete for the SEC west a hater, though.

TigerLunatik, for example, has almost always been a pessimisticly slanted wait and see guy. I don't think he's a hater.

Orgeron is still working on his first 10-win season as a head coach. If we get there or beyond, I think we'll see a lot more fans willing to give him some leash.

Yep. This last month is going to be huge for Orgeron and the program. Regardless of the outcome this weekend, we should going to be favored in our last 3 games. If we win those, I think we'll carry that momentum into signing day and end up with an elite signing class, which is key to the objective of sustaining success.

I have concerns with QB development under Orgeron's watch. I don't think there's any examples of prolific QB play to point to in regards to QBs his staff have developed.

I don't think relying on the transfer QB market, essentially attempting to outsource QB development, is a reliable plan for your offense.

Your inability to offer anything other than luke warm praise is impressive.

Well, you doubted his ability to get those players in the first place, so of course you would doubt his ability to get players to replace those players.

Look man, we got a foot in the door with Burrow because he had a friend of the family on our football staff. If we're being honest, we got lucky. If that guy's not on our staff, Burrow's not here.

A low probability event occurring doesn't mean it's not a low probability event, and doesn't mean it's more likely to occur in the future. In all likelihood, Orgeron's going to have to develop his own QBs after Burrow moves on.
