It seems on numerous occasions Harris should have tucked the ball and run over two seasons... I don't think he HAS EVER demonstrated himself as a dual threat quarterback at LSU.
He might have done himself some good in the Wisky game to have tucked and run when the defensive pressure was there including the final interception.
One PROBLEM with your post - Harris certainly isn't coached to force a throw on 1st and 10.

Harris should be encouraged to run the ball if nothing is open or if a play breaks down.
There's no excuse for that throw.
There was time to set feet and hit Chark just about to blow by safety wide open.
Haris just freaked.

Teams are outscheming us on the check with me thing at the LOS. We are so slow getting plays in that the D shows us one thing as we walk up to the LOS. Then we go through the step back, look at the sideline, get the call, make the adjustment, line up - and by then the D has jumped into another look and we have no time to do anything other than snap the ball.
Can we not do a simple audible at the LOS. Call two plays - run and pass out of the same formation. Walk up to the line and when the D commits - count the men in the box. If less than 7 or less - run. If more pass. Certainly any college QB can count men in the box.

bullshite. He's told to throw certain routes and his mind is made up before they break huddle.

Harris' time is up.
Gotta give someone else a shot.

KJ Malone said it was all on him. He made the call to switch blocking assignments. He said he didn't speak loudly enough for Clapp to hear him. Man goes in scott free and here we are.

This would make sense, but teams will always have at minimum 8 in the box, therefore it would call for us to pass 100% of the time.

Or, LSU was getting g trounced and he had zero pressure on him.
Just like, Sam Houston. Jennings sucked, but still had LSU up by a couple of scores. No pressure on Harris.
The only game he was good in from start to finish with all the pressure was against UF.
He's just inconsistent.

There are two things at work here. Situational Harris should have never been in that situation given the circumstances and where they were on the field with the amount of time left. But he did make a very poor throw. Yes he was rushed from the pocket but he still had time to set his feet and throw. It's on both parties but more on coaching because he should have never been in the situation with the running game they have and how close they were to range for a kick.

I agree with you.
One thing I'd like to point out though, if I'm anywhere close to being incorrect saying this, someone please tell me.
But when I listened to Miles' radio show tonight, at the very beginning, before any questions, he and Blair were talking about the game and I'm pretty sure Miles said something to the effect of "If Harris were to roll out and run, we'd be in field goal range."
Then later in the show when asked why we passed, he said something like, "it was the best call to make" or something like that. I can't recall exactly but it completely contradicted what he said earlier in the show.
Anyone else hear that?

You mean a 3.5 year veteran starter with tons of experience, can't perform a simple scramble or throw into the ground. (outside the pocket)
