Good luck getting a straight answer. Its always been a badge of honor on this forum for those who know "the answer to a question" to not tell you. Makes them feel like they are in some bizarre 'inner-circle' and don't want new members.

I don't know myself, but one can speculate that this fellow (the barber) was some sort of "bagman" who did things through supposedly Alabama to enrich HS recruits in that area.

So in other words, "LSU isn't paying me so I'm not going to send kids that way? I'll send these kids anywhere else and tell everyone its "where they want to go".

Its obvious, he gets off on fking LSU. Somehow it's clearly personal to him...Did we not recruit him when he was young and now has made it his life's mission to never be helpful out of spite? So "Good" players from Amite always go through him, and none of them want to got to LSU?

Re: Michael Carr, Amite star QB from the late ‘80’s who started his collegiate career at Clemson:

And it continues to resonate in Clemson, too.

When Sopsher and his family paid a visit to the ACC power for a summer camp, Carr factored into the Tigers’ sales pitch.

“Man, come up and try to redeem that,” Rodney Sr. remembers hearing.

He's not lying. He has nothing against LSU as long as they drop him money bags like Bama.

I tried to tell you people back when this was going on and it is still true now. The north end of Tangipahoa Parish is for sale, everything is for sale. The Edwards family has a hold on local politics for generations because they buy votes for 10 dollars a vote in some communities. Other communities they had out bus rides and jambalaya dinners or leg quarter dinners. In Amite / Kentwood everything has a price

That’s quite sanctimonious from a person living in the same parish that the Edwards have run forever. Your end is far more populous, too. I guess it’s not just the north end that’s for sale.
