Somebody said he was texting his side piece in the dugout when they were losing an in state mid-week game I think.

IDK...I still think that if the next coach thinks the man is a great hitting coach and worthy of being on the staff then you let that coach make that decision and live with the fallout.

Wait, you think he lost his job solely because he had an affair?

think Thursday, Jordy mentioned on his show that “the tires have been kicked” in regards to bringing Andy in as hitting coach.

Who kicked the tires?

His players basically revolted and turned him in. Kind of odd when he was (and is still referred to as) a "players" coach.

Andy is not the same person he was 3.5 years ago.

Andy isn't owed a 2nd chance by anyone, but if given, i have complete confidence that Andy is a way more matured version of himself and has learned some tough life lessons. He's been a very dedicated husband and father since.

That’s fantastic. I’m sure he will dominate LA high school baseball for years to come.

Lol yea bc im thinking if this is how this shite is being done….picking out assistants based on who certain people want before you have a head coach….then yea we are screwed

Hire the best head coach you can and trust him to hire his staff.

ETA: I’d be good with him as hitting coach, just think you don’t force a staff on a head coach candidate.

I mean I get that if the guy was in the dugout setting up the rest of his night while his team was losing a game

he won't. there will be another opportunity at some point for him. probably a lot sooner than you think. he's also being selective about jumping back into the collegiate game.

This....I mean look at the amount of felons that have been given 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and so on chances in sports.

except Andy’s issues bled into his on field performance.

issues off the field are almost always forgiven over time.
issues on the field tend to linger a lot longer.

he resigned immediately after the first weekend of the season. I'm sure shite hit the fan prior to those games as well. he had a very successful first year start.

his own players demanded his resignation because he was texting ole girl instead of coaching baseball.

that is bleeding onto the field.

if all he did was have a side piece, and didn’t bring that shite to the ballpark, he would be employed somewhere right now.

His misused university funds. That was the bigger issue

ok dude, you're spilling garbage. he's been offered employment already. his apparent lack of opportunities isn't bc AD's are thinking "he texted in the dugout" and not about the affair with staffer and whatever the cc charges were about etc.

Wasn't that kind of BS in that it wasn't really anything crazy? I think he was using a "company" phone for personal use or something similar. I wasn't given the specifics but it was something anyone could have been caught for. They were just getting something they could get him for cause and then have him resign instead. That was my understanding.

It wasn't just the phone. It was the university paying for a shite ton of "recruiting" trips to Gainesville.

I’m not sure man. I thought it was more like he was expensing “recruiting trips” that never happened

Well they happened but he wasn’t recruiting baseball players
