Les is not the same man as Tommy Tubberville. Les made a decision and will stick with it until an appropriate time to make a change. Les will not toss someone under the bus in mid season.

Les came to LSU following the most popular coach in our history. He knew that and accepted the challenge.

Les played for Michigan and lettered twice under the greatest and most honorable coach they had since Fielding Yost.

If Les looked over his shoulder and told me to take this hill then I would follow him to the top. If Nick Saban said let's take this hill then I'd be looking over my shoulder waiting for that son of a bitch to shoot me in the back.

Les knows loyalty and integrity. He not only preaches it he lives it.

Les knows that adversity breeds character and he will lead us through this.

Les Miles is a man's man. He is the example of what I hope my son grows to be.

FEAR THE HAT.

Let see McCain. A man who gave up his freedom as a prisoner of war. Fighting a war so others can be free.

Funny thing is that despite all the turmoil it could still be a 10 win season, and the only losses would be to teams in the top 10.

COULD...a big word usually meaning denial.

he is coming close with players.

never seen so much out-of-proportion arse kissing.
He is a COACH, nothing more, nothing less.

The heroes are in Arlington Cemetery.

I agree with LSU Tiger about Les Miles. But the truth is, that will not make him a better football coach.

The guy is a honorable man, no doubt. That has to be coupled with a great knowledge of football. What did he see that initially gave him confidence on his in-house promotion of Mallory and Peveto?

Everyone makes mistakes and everyone has the opportunity to atone them. Unfortunately, the fans will have to go through this season, one where we could have been more competitive if the right choices had been made in the off-season, and wonder what-if. Not to mention the draft stock of any players that are considering leaving this year. This team has not looked that good and that can't be a positive for players declaring for the NFL draft.

All-in-all, Miles really made a bad decision with the Co-DC's and that put this team at a severe disadvantage. In the SEC you better have a decent defense. I think what many fans and the media don't get is why he didn't hire a PROVEN DC. LSU has always had an outstanding D and I would imagine a lot of DC's would jump at the chance to take over the talent here.

We all hope so. There is a certain level of him being stubborn that does concern me. Sometimes, his stubborness can be good...in this situation, it would definitely be to a fault.

I just hope that his pride and ego don't get in the way of logic on what to do at season's end.

The facts to this point strongly indicate that LM erred with his DC decision.

Les Miles on Jarrett Lee:

quote:

We like Jarrett Lee. Jarrett Lee is a talented player. He gets the ball to more talented players on our football team. We must have balance on our offense. We must throw the football, and we are going to continue to groom him. I met with the coaches, and I said, ‘Listen, if he doesn’t feel comfortable with that play, it’s out.’ We are going to continue to work so that it’s coached and recoached and prepared and ready for that play, whatever that play is. Again, you saw what a veteran quarterback (Matthew Stafford) looks like, a guy that stands out, makes all the plays, throws it away when he’s supposed to, takes a sack when he’s supposed to and yet, gives his team every opportunity at victory doing the right things. That’s what we’re after. We’re going to pursue it and pursue it even more aggressively.

Not one single quote or link in that thread indicating Miles threw anyone under the bus.

This is just an open thought.....Would you not initially trust the guys that backed Pellini? They had a hand in last years D.

Now, I disagree with "co" part of our coordination also but it's very easy to criticize that decision now that it's not working.

I believe Les will find a D Cord but do you want decisions made in the middle of the season like Auburn? Look where that has brought them. Call me naive but I truly believe Les is in the middle of an educated decision rather than a knee jerk, freak-out decision to just hire someone.
