The Golden Era of LSU Football continues

After last night's win, that's a record 19 consecutive seasons of our beloved Fighting Tigers winning 8 games or more.
This has never happened in 125 years of LSU football.
Previous record was 6 seasons, from 1968 to 1973.
We are still in the Golden Era.
Enjoy it, or don't. I'm going to. Excuse the perspective sunshine. Carry on....

8 wins in 2018 does not equate to 8 wins in the late 60s.
Call it inflation.
The Gold Standard now is SEC West crowns...which essentially lead to much more.

Actually 8 wins in 1960 equals about 9.6 wins today. 10 wins today makes you competitive for an SEC West title, but that’s not the same as eight wins in 1960 (which likewise didn’t guarantee you’d be at the top of the SEC).
To get 8 wins in 1960 you only had to beat your four cupcakes, then go 4-2 in the SEC.
A run of 9-10 win seasons equates to a stretch like the OP is talking about, but if you dip to 8-4 in reg season it certainly breaks the streak when adjusted as you mention “for inflation.”

"Inflation" or not, it's never been done before and that is a fact.
Sure, number of games played, standards, and expectations have changed but the point remains we are currently enjoying (or not enjoying, depending on your state of mind) the most success LSU football has ever had in the history of its program.
Hell, take the number of wins in a season streak off the table if you like. How about just consecutive winning seasons?
Should we strive for excellence and titles and such, sure, but that's not the point.
Just pointing out we are currently witnessing the greatest success LSU football has ever achieved in its history and it feels great.

2004 , 2008 and 2106 sucked.
Still won eight.
