It seems like we have been setting this play up all year, i love the call.

So Do you guys wish that we would have saved it for the bammers?

That was a gorgeous play design.

I presume you are referring to the fake pitch going one direction followed by the inside handoff to Hilliard slanting the other direction.

Did we show our cards too early.....is it a sign that the hat has more ideas?

Maybe but I can also see how preparing for the trap may slow the backside pursuit a little

You don't want to run a new play esp one with that much misdirection in a huge game for the first time. A lot of times you never know how good plays look on paper will translate to actual in game speed that you can't simulate in practice.

Technically not a crossbuck....it's a counter trap.

Just because we ran it doesn't mean the plays won't be effective. Bama still has prepare for it and stay disciplined to not get caught by it.

this year they do. last year, with crowton, the world would know the play would never be run again.

Is this the +20 yard Hilliard run? I still haven't seen it. Does anyone have a video of it?

I think a coach has a fine line to walk- show enough to make the opponent think about every play you run and the options off of that single set vs keep somethings back so your opponent knows and thinks there is some other plays they have not seen

I saw some plays we ran vs alabama on youtube that I havent seen us run this year.
Rohan to reed game had a couple and 07 too.
Couple of the ones with RD to JReed were some that OBjr could melt people.

Here ya go: Hillard second TD Run

It's the second play in the video. First play is a run with Ford to set it up then they setup the formation for Kenny.

Keep watching the video, the short gain by Ford is the setup play for the run by Hillard. The Hillard run is the second play in the video.

The reason it worked was because they set it up. If we run it, it will be because we working towards it. Therefore, no we did not ruin it because its not gonna be the first play we call. Why does everyone insist on "saving" plays??? We are gonna have a plan and I'm pretty sure Miles knows what he's doing.

I have a feeling they are gonna do the toss dive but have spencer ware jump pass it to someone. I really think it would work.
